In a recent interview, Patrick Soderlund, Senior VP of EA Games Europe, talks about the strengths of the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360.
At first, Soderlund talks about Microsoft’s Project Natal, and the advantages technology like that brings to the gaming community. However, he then goes on to say :
“Sony has a lot of good games this year. If you go to their booth, there’s a very consistent, high quality product line-up and that will help them. I do think that we’ll see developers inside the organisation getting to understand the PS3 better and I think that we’re getting more power out of PS3 right now… I think that we’ve maxed out the 360 but we haven’t maxed out the PS3.”

nice to get some third party love
June 5th, 2009 at 6:19 PM
Sort of unprecedented, but major 3rd party studios are all in agreement that PS3 is the place to go if you want the most powerful hardware. I wouldn’t be surprised if EA came out with a PS3 exclusive specifically to take advantage of that power, much like what we’ve seen with games like ModNation Racers or EyePet.

well according to Squarenix.. they maxed out the PS3 with FF13.. even if its only a demo..
Yes, im being sarcastic..

@John Draisey
i hope you are right. id enjoy a ea exclusive.

EA’s games will probably never “max out” the PS3 with titles like Mercenaries 2. haha
June 5th, 2009 at 7:41 PM
Really wish Valve would wake up.. and give the PS3 some L4D love.
June 5th, 2009 at 8:04 PM
how the hell would EA have “maxed out” the PS3? all their games have been multi-platform using the 360 as the lead hardware. i hate when corporate big shits say stuff like this. do they really think people with more than half a brain are gonna swallow this nonsense? seriously, did anyone even consider that any EA game has come close to ‘maxing out’ the PS3? anyone???

@sobrguy
He said that they HAVEN’T maxed out the PS3.

@shadowjin
The E3 demo isn’t even running at 1080p. Funny how Square ” maxed out ” the PS3. Lol.
Square is a joke.

@ nikrel
i know.. lol.
Ive never heard of a company maxing out a system on there first try. … what are we in now ? year 3 and a half and still nothing. Square IS A JOKE. i should warn you, ff13 is the BEST FF they claim. (lol)
June 5th, 2009 at 11:42 PM
@ nickrel
dude, don’t get me started on 1080p discussions. lol
June 6th, 2009 at 12:07 AM
I agree with everyone that say’s EA will never max out the PS3. Well, not now but in ~5 years? We’ll see…
June 6th, 2009 at 12:28 AM
Of course the PS3 is not at max, only a few games r truly using the maximum capability of the PS3.

@nuclearwarfare:
that’s my point. why state something so blatantly obvious? there is NO WAY IN HELL they could have even come half way to maxing out the PS3. maybe if they make an exclusive game for it they can attempt to max it out, but they HAVEN’T, and who says they ever will? that’s why i think the statement is absolutely ludicris. what a stupid, self centered thing to say. ridiculous i say.
June 6th, 2009 at 10:30 AM
Exactly , lol EA. I don’t think they have the talent at EA to max out a credit card let alone the PS3.
June 6th, 2009 at 12:25 PM
does everything need to be maxed out? just make a good game…
June 6th, 2009 at 12:38 PM
mmm hmmm.. one by one, they will remove their feet from their mouths… sony is the future.
