Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi was recently quoted during an E3 interview, stating that Polyphony Digital could release Gran Turismo 5 “any time”.
“I want to release it as fast as I can, but GT5 for us, when you talk about its status, it’s at a point we can release it any time we want, but we can always keep working on it. It’s very important for us to make sure everything is done perfectly and everything is done in detail.”
Kazunori went on to talk about the possibility of interconnectivity between the PSP Gran Turismo and Gran Turismo 5, for the PS3. Also, he estimates the PSP Gran Turismo download will run around 1 gigabyte.
“We’re hoping maybe to make it so you can share the garage with the PSP version so that cars you unlock on PSP will be available immediately on GT5.”
The E3 Gran Turismo 5 trailer wowed audiences. If Kazunori and the Polyphony Digital team want to continue polishing this game, how awesome will the final product become? Post your thoughts and feelings in the comments section.

The PSP and PS3 connectivity sound very interesting.

this game is going to be the only racing game worth owning when it comes out. im glad they arent rushing it out. its going to be a masterpiece.

If they want it to be perfect, so be it. I can wait a few months extra for the best racing game on any console. (Fact)

If it is Perfect you want then you will never get the game into the hands of users, perfection is not attainable on systems designed by and built by human engineering.
The game if ready should come out the same day as PSP version or within the same month.

Ok, i’m not a racer type- can someone explain to me why there’s so much hype for Forza? It seems like people practically soil themselves when they hear Forza, and, at least to my ears, I don’t hear this hype for GT.
Opinions? Facts?

The Majority of Forza soilers are rabid bots who think it is better than GT and in order to make themselves believe it to be true they have to scream twice as loud as the quiet legion of GT followers who don’t need to beat there chest and scream because we know it is the superior racing sim and we have no problem waiting for it.

Love the idea of PSP and PS3 connectivitiy! More games should do this……

Forza looks like an arcade game rather than a simulation. The cars are too fast and they seem to take corners like Ridge Racer. I just don’t see how that’s considered a sim.

I really thinking that PD will release GT5 before christmas. Even if they won’t tell us right now. I think they want GT fans to buy GT PSP first and then they will announce Gt5 on or around the 1st of Nov.

Holy s***! They could have released GT5 over a year ago AND completed and released GT6 by now! Given the industry of technology keeps changing and improving, they could theoretically work on that game forever- literally. Just release the MF’ing game already. Their building it up and by the time they finally DO release it, it’s going to blow (in comparison to amount of built up hype).
