Despite the hardships of creating a new studio after being fired from his old one, Tomonobu Itagaki has apparently bounced back and is more than ready to talk smack about his fellow developers. And one person in particular, Hideki Kamiya, is under Itagaki’s scrutiny.
“If I made a similar game as a game I made in the company I quit, people would say, ‘What an idiot, can’t he make anything else?’ Well, that is more or less the opinion I have for, uh, that Bayo-something game.”
Kamiya is the world-renowned creator of Devil May Cry and upcoming action title Bayonetta. And Bayonetta’s character design didn’t go over too kindly with Itagaki either during his E3 interview with 1UP.
“Covered in hair, is she? I dunno, Mr. Kamiya must have a lot going through his head. Well, in any case, I would first recommend laser eye surgery. I’m sure he’s not that strapped for cash, right?”

I am in support of positive criticism but information like this probably shouldnt be given much attention, though is does reveal some disappointing character information.
Wow, somebody’s jealous.

i dont like bayonetta but dude STFU
I can’t stand itgaki, but to be fair, if you actually read that carefully he doesn’t actually call Hideki Kamiya an idiot. He was referring to what would be said about him if he did the same thing. But really its just another noisy developer talking out of their ass.
A game like Devil May Cry, God of War, etc… used to come out about every few months. Most of them were poorly done rip offs with some God Hand like exceptions.
Now we have a great looking IP that a lot of people love, with a lot of creativity… who cares what he used to work on who cares that he isn’t diversifying his portfolio. You make the games you love to play otherwise what’s the point?
It just means he loves the gameplay style. Until the market becomes flooded with these games like shooters are, then no need to complain. If the guy was working on another FPS, then the remarks would be kinda applicable.
LOL That’s pretty funny.
