not really, ff13 has been in production for over 5 years. there company is slow when making games also squareenix seams to suck in programing this gen, 1 delay after another and than forcing people to wait for the 360 version. all depends on the art style. squareenix is know to always add new combat, visuals, mechanics etc which slows the game being produced. They have even said there slow in programing. High def graphics don’t make the game take longer in being made. its how they go about it.. like redesigning the system itself which squareenix is know for doing in very ff. squaresoft isnt the only rpg designer, there just the most renown and they have to keep ff above the rest because its there flag ship title.

for some reason RPG’s have to have high def graphics which makes production of them go very slow like, look at FF 13

Depends who his “core” gamer is? Is it the real hardcore gamer? Or is he talking about the central gamer the age group that will buy the PS3 because they are Fanboys…

Casual gamers don’t really care about the growth of a system, they just want to play a game now and then that can hold their attention for the time being. Hardcore gamers are what keep systems alive

i have no complaints about Sony. they’re coming out with stuff that appeals to a wide range of games and that’s the best way to support your system. the only problem is that casual gamers have a hard time swallowing that price tag. the support is definitely there, just not the justification… yet. the newly announced motion “wands” and rumered $100 price cut could, and probably will, change all that.

I would like them to keep this strategy just get the price down so more people could get it. If Microsoft goes crazy after the Wii crowd, Sony might be the only console left that supports their hardcore fan base.

Sounds like a shot at Nintendo to me. Whatever they are doing though, they are doing right. Just look at the lineup of games we have coming out.
