According to the latest Kojima Productions podcast, the team behind Metal Gear Solid Rising is planning on creating an entirely new engine, and not building off of the phenomenal Metal Gear Solid 4 engine.
Kojima Productions podcast host Sean Eyestone had this to say on the development team’s decision:
“We’re redoing the engine from scratch, and it’s going to look amazing.
It’s going to be a big project like Metal Gear Solid 4. The entire team is serious about making it look as good as possible on every platform.”
Eyestone then went on to talk about how Kojima is focusing his efforts on Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, while the “young bloods” (as Eyestone described it) will be concentrating on Rising.
“It’s raising the Metal Gear franchise up to the next step. The young bloods will come up through this game.”
