PSN Cards Finally Hit Canada

06/16/2009 Written by Kishen Patel

psn-cards-canadaEver since PSN cards have made their release in the United States, the Canadian neighbors up north have been clamoring for them as well. According to a post on the PSU forums, it looks like gaming retailers, such as EB Games and Gamestop, in Canada are finally starting to receive distribution of the coveted PSN cards.

As shown in the image above, the top of the card’s back reads “Valid in Canada only. Terms of use listed below,” meaning Canadians with US accounts will not be able to use their newfound wealth to exploit the US video store. Hopefully SCE will grace the video store upon our Canadian friends soon.

  1. Finally! It’s about time. It’s sucked not having access to the PSN store. So many games I’ve been waiting to download.

    Cool, hope they enjoy them.

  3. Europe also needs Psn cards, I need them!!!!

yh, now the rest of the world is waiting, hurry up sony!
UK PSN cards are needed, cos i dunno why but im wary of my card being put on the consoles (dunno why really as i use it online)
also i know i would overspend if my card was used so thats probably the main reason why i want them in the UK

  5. @ElectroBoy

Yeah, I would be too since the console saves the information so anyone who gets on your PS3 (especially if your password is saved) can spend money off of your credit card on the PSN. While they can do the same thing with PSN cards, they can only spend as much as the card is worth.

If you use your card, you can remove the card information in the Account Management.

Haha! My post made it all the way from PSU till here. Joystiq also used my post/pics! lol!

  9. Robotron says:

Yeah I picked one up today (even though I used my CC in the past I will now use these instead).
I asked the rep there about them (the Sony truck was in town today) and they told my that it was partially Quebec’s fault…again…and that’s why we never got them here. Something to do with them being pissed off about how the french was printed on the card and they kept trying to please them.

It’s always funny how a few minorities make the majority suffer in society. Don’t get pissed at Quebec as a whole though….it’s always those few @ssholes who make them all look bad (yeah I’m looking at you hate police….oh sorry language police).

  10. thats very nice for canada but what about europe.

  11. [...] Europe is finally sharing the love that only the United States and recently Canada, have been enjoying for some [...]

  12. [...] profit from software sales for the device. A solution to this dilemma would be wider support of PSN Cards (which aren’t even available in Europe) for retailers. Hopefully this problem is remedied [...]

  13. Does anyone know when the $10 PSN Cards come out?
