Thanks for the good review! This game always sounded great to me, and a competitor for inFamous.

Reading through the review and the comments I will be going for inFamous first, since I played the demo and loved it. But I must say, killajd, what you said is probably completely true, wise words.

Anywho … I will just be waiting for it to drop in the bargain bag

THIS GAME JUST…….SUCKS!!! First I thought it was a good game, but the more I play, the more I want to burn this game. The fights are a damn chaos; the side missions are a JOKE; and the story is sooo bad. The movement of the character are nice but thats it, that is the only good thing this game has. I am almost at the end of the game….AT LAST I WONT BE TOUCHING THIS ANYMORE!!.

I Also have Infamous, and it is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than this crap. If you only have money for one game BUY INFAMOUS. It is amazing, and the ending will make you think “HOLY CRAP; I WANT THE SEQUEL NOW”.

So I enjoyed Prototype a little more as I went along into it, but I have to say it definitely isn’t worth a buy, just a rent, which is what I did. The side missions are completely pointless for the story, at least in inFAMOUS they tied them into the story somehow, and I had no desire to search for the orbs unlike the shards in inFAMOUS. The graphics are also average. If the developers would have spent as much time on the mutants and buildings as they did on Alex Mercer’s character and the other human models this game would have looked amazing. In this generation there should no longer be such a thing as 2D walls on buildings, the windows and everything just mesh into one ugly looking flat surface and that is unacceptable. As for difficulty, this game can get EXTREMELY HARD at certain parts but it really isn’t a “fun,” challenging hard, it’s more of a…extremely annoying, when can I be done with this part hard. Don’t get me wrong this game was fun as a rent, but I wouldn’t have had fun with it knowing I had paid $60 for it.
