its for Audiophile usage mostly. i had a klipsch RSW 15 double firing sub, 650 continuous and 2400 peak power. which is a high end Sub for a home audio use not bestbuy and Circuit City “deals” of the day. That was just 1 of 7 other speakers, lowering the volume doesn’t kill the sound on high end speakers.

its annoying exiting a game to switch the settings, instead of just turning the Amp off and turn up the Volume.

Who would wants this?

You can already do this anyways…I am using HDMI video and optical audio output as I type this.

Unless it is regarding the audio streams…why would you want dual audio from optical and HDMI? There is no reason for this to exist at all.

Sony responded already, if you want to check out Joystiq but here is the quote
“Update: Unsurprisingly, Sony has squashed these rumors flat. PlayStation’s Patrick Seybold told us, “Those rumors are completely untrue, nothing has been announced or confirmed for upcoming PlayStation firmware, and this is just wild speculation.” Well, we don’t know about wild … you haven’t heard our speculation about your existing PS3 transforming into a PS3 Slim after applying the 3.0 firmware. It’s true!”

I think that trophies is absolutely pointless feature .. it was better if Sony add some meaning to the acquisition of trophies …

1. In game/video screenshot/print screen ability? This was talked about awhile ago and still has not been patched. Is this one THAT difficult to program in?

2. In game/video segment capture ability ala FRAPS? Say maybe 30 seconds or so then produces an mp4 file or somthing similiar?

3. Ability to send 10-20 second audio messages to friends instead of text only ala Xboxlive?

4. The obvious in game/XMB cross chat ability.

I really like the way things are now. Just need to keep adding new features and improve efficiency of everything. A major overhaul is not needed.
