Has Valve every really disappointed their fans? I think Gabe misspoke about why they’re PC/360 only, quick to call attention to PS3’s complexity and not their lack of resources. Then we all get defensive.

Why wouldn’t Valve want to have their games on the PS3? That is that many more gamers playing their game. We’ve got content coming for L4D, don ‘t we? Why can’t we take cooler heads-and slimmer figures- at their word.

Recognize that our problem is more with Gabe than with Valve.

i’ll believe it when i see it. and if i do see it, i’m not likely to support it. Gabe & company have pissed me off too much in the past with their insulating views on the PS3.

I respect their decision to support PC and PC-like architecture. They have every right to do so, and I can see how ease of production can factor in. But I, personally, have found most of their games to be overrated. L4D in particular is not worth $60 to me. There just isn’t nearly enough content available on the disc and while I know its meant to have patches and expansions, I think a customer should get a justifiable amount of content immediately, not the “promise” of justifiable content in the future.

360 owners paid $60 for a mode of gameplay that most gamers would get as “part” of an entire package. 4 maps, no story, no weapon upgrades, no character customization, no single player campaign, in a glorified horde mode? All with no access to the mods that PC folks enjoy …at a price that PC folks enjoy. Just don’t understand it. The game was universally praised as well. A game like Warhawk which launched at a better price point and included more feautues was lamented for its price…yet Valve gets a free pass.

I welcome Valve to support the PS3, I’m sure there are alot of folks who would definitely enjoy the L4D series. But I’m not one of them, and I’d hope that people would wake up and not allow themselves to get swindled for their money – paying $60 for a $20-30 game; waiting for weeks/months for the other $20-$30 worth of content to show up, all the while hoping its actually meaningful.

i dont trust them, especially after that “typo” on there site. His response was rude. developers who are honest about making games on a new system don’t want to hurt relations before they start.

The only game i see selling is LFD. thats not even a great game
