Yes, the PSPgo is not even out yet, and a new rumor has flown out that the PSP 2 is currently in development stages. However, this rumor involves the existence of a well-known GPU manufacturer adding their scalable graphics technology to Sony’s next handheld.
Eurogamer Spanish has claimed that they have possession of the specs for the PSP 2. The handheld will apparently feature a newer version of Imagination Technology’s PowerVR SGX543MP. This would give the PSP 2 the same level of graphics we saw in the original Xbox.
It’s been claimed that PowerVR SGX543MP can run Open GL 2.0 and DirectX 10, which is technically above what even the Xbox 360 can do, as it runs Directx 9.0c. For more information on the PowerVR GPU, you can check out this link.
What would you like to see in the PSP 2 besides a second analog stick? Post your comments below!

Love to play a new MU and MGS title on that portable badboy… oh and earn trophies too!

id like to see something like PSN Mobile, where the PSP uses a 3g network to play everywhere. Free with a lot of non intrusive advertising so its free.

PSP with a 3G network would be a market killer. There would be no reason in hell to go back to my DS at that point (as much as i love it).

wow nice idea on the 3G network. sign me up!

Although the same graphics as the original XBOX would be impressive, I just think they should wait a few more years and go above and beyond. This may not be possible but just imagine a PSP with the graphics of the 360. Throw in an HD OLED screen, second analog stick, 3G with TRUE remote play, trophies, etc. and I think we would have the ultimate handheld system. Just imagine the price though! *drools*

nothing other than a 2nd analog stick. though I love my psp, it’s so limited to engaging gameplay due to crappy button layouts.

if this leak is true, I’m sure Jack Trettons’ head just exploded.

@SolidCake,
Hah! I wouldn’t doubt it. Though i think a photo of the hardware would do a lot worse. I’m sure the PSP 2’s still several years off.

I forgot to mention that the OLED screen would have to be touch screen.

Brill best rumor i’ve heard in a bit.
Personally i’d like the 2nd stick, a camera, make the viewing of videos generally easier and better, a very large HDD with memory stick pro duo slot, touch screen, plus that tilt feature the iphone has (very handy for pictures), PSP cloud (if the PS3 cloud rumors are true put it on PSP aswell, e.g. download a video of something i did and check up on my friends trophy huntings on the gp), big battery life (in an ideal world), cheap PS1 and PS2 games on the PSstore, TROPHY SUPPORT (big one for me), vidzone?, faster internet browser, app store for it.
There it is!

LOL, @
“What would you like to see in the PSP 2 besides a second analog stick?”
Because that is all it needs Imo.

it seems to me that many of the current PSP’s games already look almost as good as the PS2/XBox, so another jump in tech. I would think would make them look much better than last generation.

Pardon the language, but, HOLY SHIT that that’ll be badass! The only thing I ask for, though really, is the addition of a RIGHT JOYSTICK!
July 8th, 2009 at 7:00 AM
That’s going to be awesome… for 45 minutes, and then the battery will be flat.
July 10th, 2009 at 1:45 PM
touch screen and a built on camera and recorder

I’d love a usable keyboard, or at the very least, a keyboard peripheral that could attach to the PSP.
