Many PlayStation gamers would eventually like to see the idea of LittleBigPlanet 2 come to fruition. Even though we’ll be seeing the likes of LittleBigPlanet on PSP, many would like the title to grace the PS3 once again. Now, Media Molecule co-founder Alex Evans has shed some light on the subject.

When asked the question, “You’re suggesting there that we’ll see LBP 2 at some point?”, Alex Evans responds with:

“Well, I’d love there to be a sequel, put it that way. But that’s not an announcement – although I will say that the entire team is working on LBP.”

Would you like a sequel to LittleBigPlanet? Or should Media Molecule begin work on a new IP for the Sony platform? Post your thoughts below.

Hold your horses MM! I’m still enjoying the first one!!

A sequel to me sounds alittle lame, when they could just keep adding onto the game and charging for levels or what not and not make people start all over again with a new 60buck game that probably won’t have the ability to pull items from the first game’s saves. All I know is that I won’t be purchasing a sequel.

  3. Natiej85 Says:

To be honest, with all the add-ons that I purchased for the first one, I’ve already paid for the next two sequels.

    @natiej85: too bad

On topic: they could make the game have an open field like super mario galaxy/ 64, or if that were too much then levels in the form of the early crash bandicoot games, altough idk if sackboy would lose some of his charm if he werent 2d anymore.

id also like if they had a more robust sackboy editor. maybe you could use some of the same level materials to create masks, helmets or hats, suits and stuff.

    at the end of 2010

A sequel would be great, but not till at least late 2010. Things I would love to see in the sequel:

Upgraded physics for Sackboy (the jumping >_<)

    Water
    Wind
    Ice
    Better visuals for flamed objects
    Weather manipulation for created levels
The ability to play LBP levels
The ability to use all DLC from LBP1 (at least the costumes)
Sackboy customization menu that makes dressing him up easier =X
I would totally kick ass to let us create and record cut scenes somehow….

Sackboy deathmatch! it would be cool letting us attach those HP meters in the MGS pack onto an Sackboy and let two teams duke it out with the paint guns.

But honestly, as long as MM keeps putting out levels, cool costumes and more game changing DLC like the gun from the MGS pack, they really don’t need a sequel. They can keep riding the DLC train for another 3 years if they do it right. I would also love to see some cool advertisements (it would help drive sales and let us see more cool user created levels online). I’m sure most people don’t know about Snake nor Sephiroth Sackboy =X

They should release new level packs instead. But if they have a great idea that will make LBP 2 a greater game, then by all means, make a sequel.

  8. Jeneric Says:

i heart the idea of a lbp2 as well

    Same here, hearts all around!

  10. darkangel269 Says:

I’d rather have more level packs, but if they came out with a sequel… I’d buy it

  11. infamouslyfamous Says:

I heart the ideas of both LBP2 and new level packs!

I think they should work on an LBP sequel OR they should use DLC and patches to reformat the current setup A La Burnout Paradise’s remodeling.

I’d like the DLC to be cross compatible with both games. Can’t be that hard…

I think if they can change the experience through patches and DLC there’s no reason to have a sequel because it would segregate the community. But if there are some fundamental changes that can not be effectively done in the game and we would get a much better experience if they made a new game, then by all means make the new title.
