Disgaea 3 Recieves Trophy Love, But For a Price…

Although having been released for almost a year, Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice will be getting trophies. There will be 50 trophies for players to find and claim. However, things aren’t as cheery as they seem…

The trophy support patch that will go live on Thursday, July 16th, will make existing game saves completely unplayable. Presumably, this is in order to ensure that everyone begins at the same level, as well as to tie the trophies to each player’s PSN account to prevent cheating.

Bought it day one. Played throught about Chapter 4 then heard that there would be a trophy patch. I figured they would zerp out the save files., so I put it down and waited on CrossEdge and BlazBlue for my 2d fix.

I agree with their decision and am SO happy that we are finally receiving this patch.

is that pic above in-game graphics?

    yikes

that’s the way it has been for every game that retroactively received trophy support, why would this one be different?

  6. Cloake Says:

Not every game, darkangel. Fallout 3 let me receive trophies on my pre-patch save file. Besides that, most games that I’ve seen get trophy patches simply made it impossible to earn trophies on an old save, but if I understand this article correctly, it sounds as if this patch will actually destroy old save files.
