A rumor was circulating that an Application store, one similar to the iPhone, was coming to the new PSPgo. And now, the rumor has been confirmed by Sony.

SCEE’s head of developer relations, Zeno Colaço, revealed today that there is in fact a PSPgo application store coming. And the main focus of this application store will be “snackable” games.

“We’re introducing new initiatives for the PSP which take it beyond traditional gaming, but still includes elements from gaming, and also includes new developers,”

“It is still a professional environment, you still need a development kit and you still need to have investment and a team. But it can be a small team. We don’t see any of the restrictions on the disc-based space being in this space.”

Colaço then teased that we could see these “snackable” games at approximately 20MB in size.

I want a bunch of puzzle and platform games, the ability to play movies and music and that would make me happy. Web browsing via wireless would be cool and a twitter and or feedreader would be awesome.
