Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and London Studio have announced that one of the cutest games on the PS3, Eyepet, will be hitting European stores on October 2nd. This virtual pet title caught a lot of attention at E3, as it allows users to realistically interact with the Eyepet using the PS Eye camera.

Players can even draw objects on paper and place it in front of the PS Eye camera so that the game can convert those shapes into digital objects. And best of all, those objects (such as cars and planes) are all controllable with the DualShock 3 wireless controller. Check out the finalized box art below, and let us know what you think!

  1. I remember when me, my brother, and my best friend were watching E3 and saw this and I was like “I think everyone would rather have a pet, then hang out with some strange kid and show him what you drew.”
And I think most people will get what I mean lol

Plus, notice how on the first pic around the Pet part, the thing looks like a Furby. lol

  2. I will probably end up buying this game just for the playstation eye.

  3. yay! looking forward to this, ive always been a fan of interacting with these AI driven animals. So this would be like a dream for me, although nothing substitutes a real pet, but thats not what i want it for.

    and lol @ Ultima

i already gotta pitbull i gotta take care of…he gets all my animal attention anyway.. i think ill pass, but for those with no pets…go forth wishing you could pet a soft n furry animal.. u can borrow mine anytime…just cant guarentee hes as nice as the AI pet

  5. What a great little game. I hope it does well.

Yeah that is great for the EU but I want it here… I want Home integration so that I can have a pet in my personal space that my friends can interact with… LoL…

  7. I would only use this for the drawing and controlling feature, that could be cool, but I really don’t see the point of pretending to take care of something. Look! you can pretend to pet a little monkey/dog/furbie! LAME. I’d rather play an actual game and pet my dog that i can actually pet.

I wish they would make an evil version of the animal, one that pisses/shits on things, starts fires,
flips you the bird, you get the picture.

    @ solidCake

    LMAO CLASSIC
Yeah I might consider getting it if the animals were good and evil. You find it drunk and passed out

I asked Sony for kittens damnit , this will have to do.
    lol

  12. Will only buy as downloadable title… Why? Cause…. I doubt I’m going to be taking out games like Killzone 2 LBP DIsgaea 3 or any of my other games just to go and wave my arms and draw crappy objects to mess around with for 10-20 minutes a month and the cost won’t justify it.

Plus I don’t have to walk into a gamestop as a man, and then walk out of it with a game that says

“I have no friends, I don’t like my family, I can’t have pets, I have no girlfriend, so I’m going to play with a virtual pet i just spent X amount of money on”

Even if that’s not really the case, that’s what they’re going to classify you as… Unless you start talking awkwardly and randomly about how much your girlfriend wants it in an attempt to justify you buying it without her being there.

In other words… Retail release = fail!

Will this be available in the US?
