PS3 Slim is Looking More Official in Photos [Update]
Way back in early May PlayStation LifeStyle first covered the rumors surrounding the PS3 Slim. At the time it seemed like the system was destined to be revealed at E3. E3 came and went and PlayStation 3 Slim was a no show. Sony denied the rumors of the PS3 on a diet, and was full steam ahead on PSP Go. Now a listing has appeared on the German Amazon site for PlayStation 3 Konsole slim. The listing has been updated with an image that definitely appears official.
So it looks like all the rumors were true. It’s doubtful Amazon would be listing this in their database without information from Sony. As you can see these look exactly like all the images we have seen in the past. Albeit the lighting is much better and the overall appearance is more polished. No official word from Sony at this time.
[Update] The image is a user submitted one, but does have the uncanny resemblance to what has been seen before.
So what do you think? Is the PS3 Slim real or fake?

The source of the image may be official, but it looks like really poor Photoshop to me. You can see the edge of the controller agianst the console is pretty rough. It looks like the took the controller of the origional PS3 (non-slim) image and added it onto this one. The color is off and the image compressed looks different on both parts.
On a seperate note, why the hell is Sony changing the PS3 logo AGAIN!?

As DedicationThroughLight already stated, this image was submitted by a user NOT by Sony.
Besides, the picture doesn’t even look real. Horrible job at Photoshop!

Nope, pointing out a mistake is perfectly acceptable. Calling me or my staff “toolbags” isn’t. I don’t tolerate that type of behavior.

I think that pic showing how it looks just like the “Slim” now goes to show it’s not hard to make something fake look real(or decently real looking), but even that looks a little better then the slim going around if you ask me lol

I’ll be pickin up one and I’m feeling the design. How could anyone think it’s ugly? Flat Black and pretty much looks just like the one you already have if you have one and is that one ugly? It’s hot.

the controller seems to contrast awkwardly with the slim. I don’t believe it’s legit. I think Sony would have a better design for the Slim that looks better with the controller or vise versa.

Sony has either the best, or worst PR department on the planet, nay, I say the universe. There are less holes in the sieve I used to drain my spaghetti last night. Plug the damn leaks Sony. Start fining and suing people that release information early. Do they not sign confidentiality clauses? Fire a lawsuit up their asses until they learn to shut their damn mouths.

Well if the PS3 Slim looked a little more like this(then what we’ve seen, despite not having a HUGE difference), would have a shiny finish in general I think it’d look quite better, say PlayStation 3 instead of PS3, and have the buttons to turn it on and such like the original PS3 then I’d totally like it XD
This one is more likeable though or maybe getting more likeable, but I’ll probably always prefer the original look the most.

Friggin’ sweet! I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for more info about the slim PS3. I never had a doubt of it was on its’ way when Sev first posted about it a while ago. That second picture looks especially sexy! Keep up the great news info, guys.

Well even if it’s an “artists rendition” that doesn’t mean the thing isn’t real. Amazon certainly hasn’t removed the listing and the photo is still there.

That font that is used is the same font on PSP advertising for the PSP… If you look at all the new video trailers and such from E3 you will see the “OFFICIAL” Logo that should appear on the Slim when pictures do come out and the logo should be centered in top of the console. They would not pay tens of thousands to a graphics design team and then throw all that work out with a font that never appeared on a PlayStation 3 add.

I think the Slim is real, but I don’t think that picture is…I would believe it if it was a little higher resolution. I hope for Sony it is fake too cuz I think that thing is FUGLY!
