On the latest edition of PlayStation Pulse, a top 10 list for the most downloaded PSN games for the month of July, was released. Topping the list was the phenomenal Battlefield 1943, which, across the board, received unanimous approval. The PS1 classic, Final Fantasy VII, even though it was released last month, still claimed the second spot. Finally, The Punisher: No Mercy rounded it out for number three.

  1. Battlefield 1943
  2. Final Fantasy VII
  3. The Punisher: No Mercy
  4. Bomberman Ultra
  5. Wolfenstein 3D
  6. Namco Museum Essentials
  7. Metal Gear Solid
  8. Resident Evil: Director’s Cut
  9. Mortal Kombat II
  10. Zen Pinball

Sony has to be patting themselves on the back, right about now. It took long enough, but the PS1 classic support is finally starting to come. With the success of Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil: Director’s Cut, it is obvious PS3 fans enjoy their classics.

Wow, I feel sorry for all the people who wasted their money on The Punisher: No Mercy. I never went near it after I heard all of the horrible reviews all over the internet. I think that proves that there are millions of gamers that don’t do any research before spending their money and that is why so many horrible games are still made and sell successfully.

Obviously Fat Princess will be on the top next week. (although those glitches are becoming more apparent, I’d be playing right now, but it’s been unable to connect to games)

  6. anytime now i expecting an announcement from Square Enix for a remake of FF7. Even though I just beat it again yesterday after playing it for 93 hours I could go through it again XD

  7. @cutoffslim,
You should read the PSLS review of Shatter they gave it a 5/5 and from people I’ve heard that I know its getting great feedback from the people who play it. I wanna pick it up after I get fat princess, but maybe I’ll get shatter first becuase I hear people are having issues getting online on fat princes.

  8. Didn’t Sidhe say Shatter was number 2 in July behind BF 1943? Confused…

1943 is a fun game to play , and it’s easy on the eyes as well.
My only complaint is that there is no Shotgun, yes I’m a shotgun whore.
