The reason Netflix streaming wont work on a PS3 now is because it uses Microsoft Silverlight to stream so… yeah Netflix and Microsoft have a relationship. I wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft cut Netflix a deal to use Silverlight in exchange for XBL availability. Netflix watch it now is a good service. I have Netflix to get my Blurays but in between discs i can find something to watch and since it’s free with my regular account, why not? I want it on my PS3. Another case of Microsoft using shady business tactics because they can.

Why don’t they just add the features of Netflix to the PSN video store?

@ Garcia as far as I know there is no instant view available for the store I think if Sony had this feature more people would use the video store.

I’m completely satisfied with the movie service on the PS3. The video quality is great even on the non HD stuff. If I wait about 10 minutes to build up a buffer, I don’t have any stops during viewing either. My wife loves Prison Break, I subscribed to the season and can watch it any time. There is only a one week delay from new releases.

I also have a one movie Netflix subscription to watch Blu-Rays, there dl service doesn’t interest me one bit.

I don’t know, I think Microsoft and Netflix have a closer relationship.
I’ve seen movies removed from Netflix soon before they were Featured on the XboxLive Marketplace.
Such as Street Fighter The Animated Movie, it was available on Netflix 1 month before Street Fighter 4′s release, but as it got closer, it was removed and XboxLive Marketplace then featured an ad to download the Street Fighter movies on their Download service.

I hope if they do implement Netflix on PS3, I don’t have to see “Quality Change” as much as I do on Xbox360. they need to work on that if they have yet to do so.

but I’d say that Sony streaming Chris Angel on Home is a start in possibly the Netflix direction. (it would be nice if they started doing movie nights on Home)

I believe I have an internet-ready Bravia TV (XBR4)… but I’d be pissed to buy the internet link to get Netflix to work. It really should work – I pay enough for my Netflix and blu-ray access plan that they should hook us up. I’d still prefer watching the discs as they’re 1080p, but would like the option to watch some TV shows online.

Also, I’m still pissed that Hulu blocks PS3s now. I was using that daily.

Now even though I don’t like to admit it, alot of playstation users\supporters don’t even use, know, or brag about the fact that playstation has so many multilpe features outside of the built-in ones that come with it. I had someone send me a message asking “why was using Life With Playstation” because he never used it. Now I don’t even have a reason why I would spend that amount of money for a system that I don’t even know the all the features of. He didn’t know you can check LFP for news artiles around the world. MS is braggin on the fact that the dashboard is gettin a damn twitter and face book app and we have had that since day one! They are paying for something that’s free and the first screen on our browser lmao!!! Also if you guys aren’t leaving your console on you should think about it seriously. The system is built like a horse and can be left on for at least one or two weeks 24 hours a day. I never cut mine off and it runs perfectly to this day. My point is for everyone to use ALL the systems features and support it to the MAX!

People who have Netflix probably don’t use the PSN video store anyway, so adding this feature wouldn’t really hurt PSN video sales. If anything, it will just increase the amount of time people spend on their PS3′s (might even help sell some too), which could only mean good things for Sony.

I haven’t used the PSN video store in a long while. Does it still require time to download a movie after purchase or rent, or is there an instant play feature?
