Sony Changes Upcoming Boxart to Prepare for PS3 Slim
The main rumor stemming from a PS3 Slim announcement is actually much bigger than a redesign of the console, and hints at Sony aiming to rebrand the entire PlayStation lineup. Further proof of these plans stem from a surprising redesign of a familiar game’s box art.
The updated box art for Eye Pet, Sony’s newest game to take advantage of the PlayStation Eye, showcases a more subtle design approach, with the subtle box engraving serving as the only indication of this title being a PS3 game. The cleaner look also allows more room for the actual game art, which is a nice improvement.
Whether these changes will carry over to PS2 and PSP titles has yet to be seen, but we expect the official announcement to take place at GamesCom. Make sure to stick with PlayStation LifeStyle for all your gaming updates!

well i guess i don’t how this is an improvement or why it’s necessary…to me it just looks cheaper, just like the pictures of the SLIM.
There isn’t anything different here lol. This is a normal PS3 case. The only thing that is missing is the “Only On Playstation” beside the Playstation Network logo. How this has anything to do with the PS3 slim I do not know.
EDIT: Ohh my bad I see the Playstation3 on the side is gone. I’m kinda already used to it now though, no reason to change it.

Looks like a big’old fake. Sony isn’t THAT stupid to change boxarts. I recently read on N4G that this image was created by a NeoGaf user, so… Yeah.
if you notice, the PlayStation logo is WHITE!!
just like the playstation 3 slim video, the logo was WHITE!!

This is European boxart, and although it looks cleaner, there is no evidence to support a design change across the entire PlayStation brand. This could very well be exclusive to Europe.

this is european boxart.. look at any UK game seller online or the UK/AU Playstation site.
