EA has revealed, through their GamesCom press conference, even more brow-raising statistics for their already successful Battlefield 1943 game. Since July 8th, PS3 and Xbox 360 owners have downloaded the WWII pacific shooter to the tune of 1 million downloads. This is extremely high, considering the fact that this is a download-only game.

Battlefield 1943 has already shattered previous sales records, as it became the fastest selling day one and week one digital-only game, ever.

It also shattered a record in having the laziest developement team behind it. They still have not fixed the mics, and the last update they had on the mics was “sony has been contacted about this issue.”……..real neat, way to make sure your game is fully functioning and teamwork is a virtue of the gameplay. You can still only hear your friend for about 20 seconds into a match then you wont hear a peep unless you quit the game and start a new one.

You have to remember that they “LOVE” Microsoft. But the reason the 360 has mics is because they have cross-game-chat and that means you don’t have to develop any in game mic support.

Last night some friends and myself got together on the PS3 version and used Skype as our mics and that worked fine as our option to get around the lazy attitude to fixing the voice option and if Skype looses its lawsuit then we have teamspeak to fall back on…

So until Sony steps up with cross game chat 3rd party apps can fill the gap…

@SPD55 i thought they would add cross game chat on 3.0 firmware. but i was wrong.
