PlayStation LifeStyle reported that the MAG public beta would be starting September 17th 2009. Looks as though that report was right, as a recent post on the US PlayStation Blog confirms.

In the Gamescom Virtual Booth Tour: MAG post on the PS Blog, Chris Morell confirms some great news for current Qore subscribers.

“Check out the video, and don’t forget that Qore subscribers will have the chance to get in on the MAG Official Public Beta on September 17!”

So if you missed out on the original sign-up phase, this is a good chance to participate in the beta for this massive online game.

The same time as the Uncharted Multiplayer Demo. That’s the best kind of desision to make you win wichever game you play.

Based on that, I’m not exactly sure if people currently in the private beta will have access to the public beta, though, it wouldn’t make much sense to leave them out.

I figured that my subscription would come through, Uncharted 2 closed Beta and now the open Beta for Mag. That means that we will be playing for gamers in Tokyo, since TGS is the 19-24th of Sept.

We are the demonstrators for Zippers PR Team going to TGS this year… And since it is Open Beta there will probably be a lot of virtual Marines from the 13+ Arny of Pwned Noobs…

Now lets see how Military Style Tactics and Gameplay hold out for those that have only been used to run and gun, it will hopefully be a big part of the game… HOOORAH SEMPER-FI

this is the reason I subscribe to Qore, I was really hoping they would give us subscribers access to the MAG beta because I was really disappointed when the release date was moved to 2010. To those complaining about the price of Qore, I think $25 is well worth what you get. I couldn’t care less about most of the content actually in Qore, though some of it is cool, but the free games and access to betas have more than paid for the subscription already.

i agree 100%. i got a Qore subscription for my birthday last year and it was a gift that kept on giving. i’m going to re-up next month out of my own pocket ’cause it’s just that good of a deal.

I’ve never really subscribe to Qore. Some say it’s great. But is it worth it? than a real magazine? I really want to try MAG, but I just can’t get enough of Uncharted 2 since last beta (came with iNFAMOUS). Which one to play? hmmmm…. HELP!!!!!!!

  12. @Kirobz

The game doesn’t come out until January, so if you break down the price of Qore ($25) over the next five months….well, you get the picture. I think $5 a month is worth it to be able to play MAG before it’s released. It will give you a chance to try it out and see if it’s even worth a buy. Aside from that, Qore is actually pretty cool. It usually gives you access to Home extras, full PS1 games, betas, etc. I’m hoping Zipper offers some cool MAG related stuff through Qore.

  13. Qore by itself sucks, but the perks that come with it are worth the price of admission.

  14. Psmgamer says:

I hope those without Qore can still get in or I’ll have to subscribe before the beta starts.

  15. wtGp says:

this is why u have to subscribe to Qore for the free stuff, it is totally worth it.

  17. This is why I sub to Qore and resubbed for the reduced price and the Drake’s Uncharted Voucher.

I get 5 dollars off of Uncharted and get into M.A.G. Beta… There’s a good 10 dollars of my 20 dollar cost recouped :P

  18. stewey says:

This just made up my mind to resubscribe to Qore next month, since my sub ran out in August. Can’t wait to try the MAG beta!
