@to the people predicting when Ps3 will surpass 360 sale numbers.

its difficult to tell… the major games are bound to make the difference here.
games like FF13 and Assassins 2 MW2 and more.

the PS3 has the capacity to outsell total 360 numbers but they need to put more effort into MArketing.

I think the xbox would have been gone awhile ago if it wasn’t for Microsofts deep pockets.
How can you have a 50% failure rate and keep going?, I read that extending the warranties cost around 1 billion.
Anyway, glad to see the slim making a strong move in the charts, the Wii has been there for so long.
I wonder what the first bundle will be for the slim?

$100 price drop on the elite 360 wont really mean much. That would mean that the 360 would have as much as hard drive as the PS3 slim and without no wifi and blue-ray, plus additional cost for online play, Consumers would really see the PS3 as a greater value. They won’t be in the competitive price unless they put their Arcade SKU to $100-$150 and Elite to $250. The only problem is that consumers would now see how high their pricing is in regards to their HDD. If they somehow cut the price of the Arcade to $100-$150, the consumer would realize that they would need to spend another $100-$150 to upgrade a HDD. MS is in real trouble with their pricing imo. Not only the console needs to be priced cut but also almost all their accessories. I still can’t believe how rediculous those accessories are. $100-$150 for a HDD? That’s not even alot. I could replace my PS3 with a 500g 2.5″ HDD for around $70. And that wifi adaptor that they’re selling for $100 is a ripoff. It should have come with it in the first place. It’s 2009! It’s supposed to be pretty much standard right now. With the PS3 now costing $240 to make, I won’t be surprised if the PS3 would drop to $250 in the next year (that’s if MS would really lower its pricing and Sony feels they need to be competitive).

MS is in a serious issue of pricing. Add Nintendo into that too. Both Sony’s competitors are boasting with their low illusional price (they have tons of accessory gimmicks to get cash out on you). And with a $300 price of a PS3, both of them would need to cut prices of at least $100. I am pretty sure that Nintendo would be too stubborn to cut the price. I don’t really understand why people are buying the Wii. Why is a console that great despite not having great games? Well, I guess its not for the gamer’s eye. They certainly changed direction.

All in all, if the other consoles won’t be competitive, Sony would catch up fast and eventually go past them. The PS3 is certainly the best console in this generation. With many gamers want to jump into the PS3 fun, great exclusives line-up, and new low price, it would be hard to stop the momentum that the PS3 had built.

even at 250 for the 360, people have to see that the better value is that of the PS3 at 300. With all you get and all that you DO NOT need to pay for, its just a better value.

I hope it does dominate and just in case no ons aware the 360 dropped by 100$ yesterday.. hopefully people will read what the PS3 has to offer and not listen to some lame sales rep saying the 360 is better in mutiplatform etc.

@draegen (and others) – Didn’t I read somewhere that MS is lowering the price of the Elite to $299? I want Sony to tie up the console wars, but each console selling for $299 is not going to even things out.

I hope all those people out there that were waiting for the PS3 to drop have finally taken the plunge and bought one. That would be fantastic. I know my niece just picked one up for $399. I told her to take it back and get back her $100. LOL.
