When Ghostbusters released on PS3 earlier this year there were a lot of PS3 owners voicing their displeasure over the visual issues that seemed to plague to the PS3 version. And to make matter worse, these problems were nonexistant on its 360 counterpart. Now it looks like those cries have been answered as a patch for Ghostbusters is on its way.
Here’s the official word:
“Both single and multiplayer modes have been updated. In single player mode, fixes include an increase in resolution to match that of Xbox360 and some freeze issues, along with numerous other localization fixes.
Several audio/subtitle mismatches have been patched up as well. The multiplayer patches fix certain maps when both SCEA and SCEE players attempt to play with each other, and the Pay Day Trophy and Capture All Most Wanted Ghosts Trophy now unlock properly.”
So how do you guys feel about this? Is this patch too late to sway your wallets, or is it coming right on time? Let us know in the comment section below!

That’s amazing that they can boost visuals for an entire game like this with a patch! Way to own up Ghostbusters developers!! Too bad I beat the game and returned it already…

atleast they put the effort into their game for the ps3 and didnt just say fuck it. I love this game BTW

I just might have to trade this game in for something that was not detuned for the PS3 to begin with because bias towards one platform ot the other. Just goes to show that some publishers only care about money when it comes to multi-platform games. I prefer quality games on the first release than have to patch it because they did not have/take the time to get it right the day it is released…

The vast majority of the time, I’m happy to see the developers come out with patches to fix various problems. But when the problem is that the whole game had graphics that were inferior to the other version, no way. That’s not a technical glitch, it’s inferior quality.

Does the patch make the game fun??
August 26th, 2009 at 2:09 PM
well lets wait and see what this patch does first.

Trexman – well, if it just fixes graphics, the game should have been fun either way… although, maybe you were being sarcastic…
I for one didn’t know it had these problems, and still intend on renting it one day at least, and perhaps purchasing. On one hand, I’m sick of developers playing favorites and giving better graphics to the xbox versions when the ps3 has the power to bury the xbox… at the same time, I’m glad when developers fix their mistakes. It wasn’t too long ago that this wasn’t possible on a console, and its good that people are taking advantage of this ability.

@ Trex, i personally think the game does better than a lot of other movie games. It is a solid effort with the feel of a good ghostbusters movie..

It’s not too late. Any Ghostbuster fan would already own this title. I have it, just downloaded the patch, and am playing where I left off. I at the boss of the museum level.
I used to be one to play-and-trade, but I realize that when you trade in games, you basically spend $60 to rent a game for a month or two and get $25 back, so you lose $35. From here on out I’m keeping my games.
I think any fan of the movies would keep this game no matter what

@BigWoopMagazine, its not that they are playing favorites but they are programming for the least powerful of the two systems which means we get kind of screwed in the graphics department…..can you imagine if they programmed it for the ps3 they sent it to the 360, it would look so bad, the should program wii and 360 games together and program for the ps3 seperate, but with the eventual spike in ps3 sales from xbots getting ps3’s they will hopefully start doing better for our system.

the problems never should have existed in the first place, any discrepancies between the PS3 and XBox 360 versions of a multi-platform game at this point in the generation are purely from a lack of effort from the developer

We can haz pixels pease?
August 26th, 2009 at 6:48 PM
Let me see how the patch works. It may convince me to get the game.
August 26th, 2009 at 7:23 PM
What ever I’m waiting for this game to be in the 30 dollar range. Why? Well… the PC version costs around there and I don’t plan on multiplayer much.

Probably getting it tomorrow morning
