At Game Developers Conference earlier this year, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time was unveiled for the first time. The trailer blew many spectators away, and the PlayStation 3 exclusive almost instantly became one of the year’s most anticipated titles.

New gameplay was just posted on the Official PlayStation Blog which reveals some new information about the game. The video shows off some incredible scenarios where Ratchet is able to go around outer space and explore the various planets within the game world. Most surprisingly, when asked about a potential demo for the game, Community Relations Manager of Insomnia Games, James Stevenson, replied with the following post:

“There will be a downloadable demo.”

With the new epic trailer shown off as well as confirmation of an upcoming demo, it’s hard not to become excited over this unique title.

  1. Good news, last time you had to pre-order from Gamestop for the demo.

  2. AoA says:

Not that excited about a demo. The game is an automatic buy for me, so I don’t need to check it out. I’d rather be surpised with whatever level they give when I actually get the real game.

  3. Can’t decide if I’m excited about this or not. It looks terrific, but Quest for Booty wasn’t my cup of tea. Never played ToD.

  4. Sneeches says:

dont need a demo, already know im buying this game day 1. But good for them I guess.

  5. Be sure to check out the trailer too guys. I’m VERY impressed by it, and I’m sure you will be too.

  6. Sneeches says:

  7. killajd says:

Very nice ideed. Not that I need a demo to buy this game but I look foward to hopefully playing the demo before the game comes out.

  8. KwietStorm says:

There are actually games that I would rather not play a demo for, because I know I’m buying it day 1 regardless. This is one of those games.

  9. Brent says:

Too…Many…GAMES!!!! *Gives Sony entire life savings and the kid’s college funds and still has many games to buy*

  10. i dont need a demo to know i will buy this game, but i will play the demo for sure

You can’t quite judge the series based on Quest For Booty – that was a story-driven segue into the new one. In my opinion they were testing the waters with the new wrench mechanics. ToD is a much different experience with zillions of weapons that can all be upgraded (there are stores and what not also). And the weapons change as they upgrade from level 1 -> 5; they don’t only do more damage. Heck my favourite weapons weren’t even in QfB. ToD is worth the Greatest Hits price by far if you “sorta-kinda-almost” liked QfB.

I say all of this and I’m not even a platform player – it really is unbelievably good.

Sweet Ign even loves it, scary?

  16. [...] [...]

  17. I played QFB before TOD, and QFB quite frankily is good, but is poop when compared to TOD, which i am loving!

  18. kirobz says:

Nice! Tease me with the demo and make me drool more. Don’t worry insomiac, we’ll sure buy this game.

  19. they had the demo up at a Toys R Us, but I didn’t get a chance to actually play it (others were too entranced)
