This is sweet, although I’m still not liking this whole rebranding thing. :[

It should be on a steel case!
Does it have an incentive if you pre-order?

Not yet, but Amazon has been known to include pre-order goodies.
The best part is, if you pre-order now, Amazon will still give you the pre-order goodies when and if they announce them later on.
I know this because they gave me $10 gift card for pre-ordering Modern Warfare 2: Prestige Edition. They announced the $10 gift card 2 weeks after I pre-ordered.
Amazon has become my favorite retailer.

KICK ASS. I never got around to finishing the first game and never touched the second one, so I am definitely picking this baby up. Trophies and an HD makeover only sweeten the deal!

I hope there are 2 platinums. but it won’t be a deal breaker if there’s only 1. Most likely preorder from amazon.

I don’t really buy from amazon. Could you use paypal on amazon?
09/02/2009 at 10:22 PM
No you can’t, but I suggest you still pre-order from Amazon. They get the best pre-order goodies.
Also, did you know you can get a Paypal debit card that you can use to make purchases anywhere that accepts Mastercard? It takes the funds right from your Paypal account so you can buy stuff with your paypal account from places that don’t actually accept paypal.
I do it all the time. I even get money from the ATM out of my paypal account.

PROTIP:
StalkingSilence saysOn PayPal you can create a one-time use debit card/credit card. It came out last year as an option. So generate the card, put what you need on it. Then buy through Amazon! I seriously love their Blu-ray deals. I live across the street from a Best Buy, those guys can be good too, but don’t shy away from Amzon if you haven’t tried it.

haha how did I miss sev’s comment?! haha whoops. Anyway, you should try it (even on your wife’s account)
September 2nd, 2009 at 10:02 PM
@makai I believe that there would be two platinums for this game.
September 2nd, 2009 at 10:50 PM
@sev I just use my wife’s paypal acct. lol. Cause she likes buying stuff from ebay. I’ll take a look on that service.

Hmmmm… Kratos Home costume??? I’ve never played any of the God of War games, this re-release is certainly enticing. Especially because there are Trophieeesssss.

Sony is on the ball with this. If only they remade other classics…
September 2nd, 2009 at 11:16 PM

By the gods…

@sev
idk if you can say amazon has the best pre-order goodies. I personally have liked gamestop goodies more than the amazon ones.
for a good example lets looks at uncharted 2 pre-order offers:
Amazon – you get an “exclusive” treasure map that shows where all the hidden treasures are. The reason i said “exclusive” is because one there will be a strategy guide with that info and two we all know someone will leak this after the first day. So basically a pointless goody and I believe many would believe this to be true.
Gamestop – you get the Revenge attribute earlier than you would playing the game AND access to the multiplayer beta/demo in Sept. If that isn’t better than a treasure map I don’t know what is.

Well I do agree, GameStop has some great pre-order goodies as well.
I just hate GameStop.
StalkingSilence says09/03/2009 at 11:03 AM
the ‘zon tends to give a cheaper price. I mean Madden 10 is <$50 today. Gamestop it costs $55 used.
September 2nd, 2009 at 11:45 PM
btw Gamestop says that God of War collection is being shipped out on Nov 10 (lol same day as MW2 wonder what will sell more) which kinda makes more sense than the Dec 31 posting Amazon has. It is not official but that is what Gamestop has on their website

Just preoredered. Still deciding if I am going to get it though!
September 3rd, 2009 at 12:29 AM
@ GATORJV – GET IT!
and I agree with Sev, unless GameStop is offering a pre-order goody that I can’t refuse, I refuse to buy from them just because I hate the way they refuse to lower their prices at all below the $59.99 mark and they rip you off SOOOO BAD for Used games. If anyone still buys Used games from GameStop I have to ask, WHY? OH WHY WOULD YOU DO SUCH A THING? Just buy the new copy for $5 more! and then sell it on eBay when you’re done!

Being from Europe, will the US version of this baby even run on my (untouched) PS3?
September 3rd, 2009 at 9:05 AM
Sweet – I will definitely be buying this! I loved God of War but never got around to buying the second one. In 720p on the PS3 will be the perfect way!
I hope they do this with more of thier games in the future.

I am with you Sev. Amazon.com is by far my favorite retailer. I really like their pre-order price guarantee and release date delivery. GameStop gets good pre-order goodies as well, but I also have a certain disdain for them. The fact that the shipping is free, and my state does not charge tax for online purchases makes it even sweeter.
September 3rd, 2009 at 10:05 AM
Well only reason i buy from Gamestop is because I will either buy a game new or just rent it. Gamestop is 3 minutes away from me and they usually have better pre-order goodies. I am not going to saying that Amazon doesn’t have sweet goodies but just so far the games i have bought gamestop had better goodies. Plus Gamestop does midnight launch dates which I dont know if Amazon can do that, don’t see how it is possible. So i get the game slightly earlier and I game all night.
But i do agree with the used prices from gamestop are absurd but that is why I just buy new.
09/03/2009 at 11:07 AM
but… but… Amazon is open at Midnight EVERY NIGHT! haha
