Maybe I am just too tired and am missing something here but…
This sounds like the stupidest thing Sony has suggested in a while. How does this help you transer stuff from your old PSP to your shiny new Go when the current PSP’s store all the saved data on the Memory Stick Duo you will have to REMOVE so you can insert the new M2 with it’s silly adapter?? Transfering game saves, music files, etc from the old PSP to the Go isn’t a problem (hello USB cable). In fact, I have never heard anyone mention it as a concern.
I hope this is some sort of joke and Sony is going to address the real problem of the UMD’s. I would really like to get a Go, I love the idea of not having to lug around UMD’s or cartridges. To me, that’s a truly portable gaming system. But I am going to wait to see if they can solve UMD problem. Because if I do get one, more than likely I’ll keep my 2000 for my husband to play. Why in the world would I want to turn in all my UMD’s just to have the right to download what I already own? Talk about crippling my 2000! Then I have to go buy a bigger Memory Stick unless I want to go plug it into the PS3 every time I want to change games.
I got a PSP 1000 when they first came out and I’ve been a fan ever since. The sad thing is, I am really afraid Sony is going to leave exisiting UMD owners out to dry. And that is going to feel like a bit of a kick in the teeth to loyal Sony fans.

I wonder has anyone realized that the new all digital format of the PSPgo is actually a step toward insuring video games will never decrease in price, once they phase out UMD PSP’s, older titles will likely never decrease in price.

Why would there be a need too? since in theory they can just copy & sell, repeat forever… You’ll never own a tangible thing.. if you delete it likely your screwed, and never be able to buy low and sell at profit.. “RIP Cheap games” I think the PSPgo is a corporate money maker and a consumer money pit.

A more consumer pro system would have had a way to transfer the UMDs you own to the PSPgo (even temporarily like for 60days) that would mean you’d have to re-copy it and not just trade it off or share UMD’s.

hehe idont have any versions of the psp….so im gonna start fresh with the PSPgo and i have friends willing to let me borrow there 3000′s so can i download their games onto my go?….all for free? any1 know??

To be honest it isn’t that much of a size increase. I have a CR-5400 that adapts 2 micro sd cards into a pro duo card, so currently im running on two 8gb micro sdhc cards with tons of games movies and music, bigger than my ipod

I’m just not seeing how investing in a PSPgo is a good idea when you can pick up a PS3 for 50 bucks more? I’m talkin in general if one didn’t already have one or the other.

I can’t imagine how expensive the 16gb bundle will be, but those 100 included songs is nice. Does that mean the psp is getting a music store then or will thiat be integrated in to the new media go pc software

I don’t see in the press release where Sony stated you can swap games. they mentioned everything but games. I don’t believe they have a solution for games UMD/Digital. Maybe digital can be re-downloaded on the PSN, but still no solution for UMD. You might consider changing the article to reflect “hopefully” games.
