Bountiful Goods Abound in Uncharted 2 Fortune Hunter Edition
With the Uncharted 2 release date approaching, more and more about the game is being revealed. Thankfully, Uncharted 2 is being shown at the Penny Arcade Expo, and therefore new gameplay videos and information is being revealed on a daily basis.
At PAX, Naughty Dog finally announced the official Uncharted 2 collector’s edition. The collector’s edition is officially called the Fortune Hunter Edition and includes a wide array of goodies inside. The package includes the game in a tin casing, a replica of a dagger artifact found within the game, a collectible art book as well as a collector case autographed by none other than the people at Naughty Dog themselves. The Fortune Hunter Edition will also include some downloads, but details on that aren’t ready to be revealed just yet.
The only bad side to this awesome collector’s edition is that it will not be available for purchase. Instead, you will have to win it through a variety of ways that have yet to be announced. With that said, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is sure to be a hit this year, so look out for it when it releases on October 13th.

@TheHater – agreed. but $200 only, i think they will sell it at $500 minimum. ND and SCEA will only give 200 pieces of this limited edition.
this is a dumb move by ND and SCEA. many uncharted fans want to buy this including me. another issue is that it’s for US only so there go my chances of winning.
ND and SCEA can make it up to the fans, just release a Collector’s Edition that includes the game+nathan drake figure and i will be sold with that. they can also include artbook or the dlc goodies.
*sigh* the first CE that i want to buy…..and they won’t sell it.

It would have been nice if they had made a collector’s edition we could buy, but this is pretty cool really. At least this collector’s edition is limited and not just a matter of whether you have an extra $30 laying around.
It’s stupid because (in order of stupidity):
1. It’s only available to the US
2. You have to win it
3. There’s only 200
It’s hard to show support for such a great developer when they don’t seem to want you to
holy crap this is going to be the most limited thing on the ps3 thus far. this is crazy… a ffvii limited edition ps3 goes for like $900 and has 7,777 made… a yakuza 3 le which has 10,000 made goes for like $1100… so there are 200 of these and its autographed… im guessing this is going to sell for something ridiculous.
that sucks. l’ve been for a limited/collectors of this game to be announced and when finally appears, l can’t buy it
@Hater True! I really want this. This would be probably the only game that I would buy a Collector’s Edition. And I doubt that it’ll be just $200. It would only have 200 copies. That’s how rare this one could be. Especially if its sealed. But if I got mine, I’m sure I won’t sell it. This is probably the worst move Naughty Dog made in their entire life.

which means a contest probably clue related/search and not just a random raffle drawing . Its better they dont mass produce it, keeps it unique, unlike all these ” limited collector editions running around”. The select few will have to use there brains to win it.
Nice to know only the US matters to Sony.
