Vivid Boss Wants to Make Dreams of Porn on PS3 a Reality

Last month we told you about DDM.tv, and it’s Blu-Ray Quality HD Adult Movies that were on their way to Japanese PS3s. Now the world’s largest pornography producer want’s to bring Adult content to the PS3.
While speaking with MCVUK, Vivid Entertainment Founder and Co-Chairman, Steven Hirsch said the distrbution of adult films on the PS3, had “real potential”.
Hirsch also said:
“[DDM’s launch] is a good start. We hope that Sony will allow adult movies to be downloaded worldwide.”

Sure, why not? If parents don’t want their children to see it, then block it from them (I’m assuming Sony will have some sort of parental control system for this). Of course, there should be a separate section in the video store for this, where the videos are ONLY accessible through this (i.e. you can’t sort all videos on the PS Store by title and see both mainstream action movies and adult movies).

Parental Controls are there for a reason & if you don’t want this to be seen by anyone or your children it’s your fault for not implementing it
Well, we already have an internet browser, a hard drive and wide video format support… I assumed that was Sony’s way of allowing porn on the PS3.

Give me a break. This isn’t being pushed down your throat; it’s an option that will increase revenues for Sony. Theres already parental controls on the PS3. You can block certain levels of Blu-ray and DVDs from being played, and you can lock out the internet browser. I see nothing wrong with it, but I don’t really see why its necessary either. It is ammo for the soccer-moms who are too lazy to figure out how to use parental controls,,, it’d seem they’d rather corporations to the parenting and censoring for them.

It seems that there is a back up of sexual frustrations going on here and when did any online parental controls stop a teenager from hacking into that system or watch how the code was entered by mom and dad to bypass the age limit. When Sony can’t even get the controls right for Access to its own network right to get into its own online service called Home. But if the pervs have to get their jolly’s by useing a “Game” system for access to what their computer can already do with new Blu-ray drives.

This would be great for sony’s revenues. Although it would be flamed by the media and probably recommend to not buy the PS3. In which the competitors would get its uphand. This is a tough call.

I think its a good idea. But who in their right mind would actually pay for porn. There are only about a gazillion “free” websites already. Easily accessible through your PS3 web browser. At least, that’s what I’ve heard.
