The latest PSP firmware update has just went live across the globe. Before you download this update, check out what changes it brings…
Although the list of features is very minor for this update, we suspect that there is more that has been added, that isn’t yet available. This firmware update in general appears to be prepping for the launch of the PSP Go. Check out the full change list below.
We also have found that your PSP doesn’t need to be fully charged to update your firmware any longer. However it’s not clear if this was added in a previous firmware update.
Other features had been rumored to be included in this update, but most of the features rumored pertain to the PSP Go, so it cannot be confirmed if these were indeed included in 6.00. Check out the rumored features below.
We cannot confirm the validity of these rumored features, but that last rumored feature would really make the PSP Go shine, since you’d be able to game online, anywhere in the world, as long as you had your 3G enabled wireless phone.

Can’t believe people are underwelmed.
Hints at the mobile phone for internet anywhere and possibly a game rental service?
These are huge behind-the-scenes updates.

Wow. This is a sneaky big step in the right direction, for sure.

lawl i agree SolidCake. No new XMB, no new features… ugkk… this is terrible. I was expecting more than the PS3 update to be quite frank. Jeez, PSP owners were more excited for this than PS3 owners were excited for 3.00.
What a let down, this is a joke. Hopefully upcoming PSN content makes up for this.

The only thing interesting is the bluetooth info. This update was pretty useless

SO making your celly an internet access device for your new shiny PSP Go isn’t awesome?

It’s great to see that people will (presumably) be able to rent games on PSN. Sure beats only having the option of paying full price.

If this damn update has real playlists for my PSP, I swear I’d pay real, actual dollars for this. Gotta go check!
PLEASE LET THERE BE PLAYLISTS!

I was expecting a full-blown update with all the new things like an XMB redesign, new store design, more music visualizers, etc. Oh well.

Soooo what was supposed to be there again? As far as I can tell it updated the version number and that’s it. Not funny Sony. Not funny at all.
I even resynced all of my songs from MediaGo to see if it sorted them by playlist. Nope. Same shitty, useless behaviour. At least make a real shuffle function – you know, across groups?
