2K Games Announces February 9, 2010 Global Street Date
for BioShock® 2
Sequel to the winner of more than 50 Game of the Year Awards marks the arrival of one of 2010’s most highly anticipated titles
New York, NY – September 18, 2009 – 2K Games announced today that BioShock® 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2007 Game of the Year, will be available worldwide beginning February 9, 2010. The game is now available for pre-order at participating retailers.
Currently in development for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and Games for Windows® LIVE, BioShock 2 will deliver two unique, yet intertwined experiences that form the perfect blend of explosive first-person shooter combat, compelling storytelling and intense multiplayer action.
Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. Players step into the boots of the most iconic denizen of Rapture, the Big Daddy, as they travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and their own survival.
Multiplayer in BioShock 2 will provide a rich prequel experience that expands the origins of the BioShock fiction. Set during the fall of Rapture, players assume the role of a Plasmid test subject for Sinclair Solutions, a premier provider of Plasmids and Tonics in the underwater city of Rapture that was first explored in the original BioShock. Players will need to use all the elements of the BioShock toolset to survive, as the full depth of the BioShock experience is refined and transformed into a unique multiplayer experience that can only be found in Rapture.

meh…was not a fan of Bioshock. To be honest, I hated the game. I am a trophy w**** and I only played the game once before ejecting the disk out of my PS3.

I really can’t wait for this. It should be awesome. I really only, hope that there aren’t alot of online trophies. I would like to get a plat. for this game.

@TheHater
What does being a trophy w**** have to do with you not liking Bioshock? Bioshock is one of the best Platniums trophies i’ve achieved.

I loved the demo of the first one. That’s why I decided to get it last week because of the price drop to $20. Haven’t started it yet though. I’m just completing my Uncharted throphy. If I would like the first i’m sure going to buy this.

I hope they didn’t sacrifice anything to add that multi-player in. Sometimes I feel like the only person on the planet that wishes companies would STOP adding multi-player to every game in sight. Focus on the single-player like last time, 2K – you did a fantastic job.
I’m still laughing at the reviewer that called Arkham Asylum the “New Rapture.” Bloody well hardly, no. Once you understood the angle Bioshock was really coming from, it was an incredible experience. Just the first level and a half seemed a bit, umm, hard. Pistol vs Big Daddy was a little taxing on my aging FPS reflexes…

I think TheHater meant that even though he IS a trophy w****, and therefor would probably try to attain all trophies in a game, he took this game out after the first run through, because he disliked it so much. I most definitely do not concur. I loved me some Rapture.

I am a trophy w****. I try to get all the trophies in a game. To me personally Bioshock was horriable and I couldn’t stand it. Not even trophies was worth me playing the game again for the rest of the trophies.
