Infinity Ward Teases Major Modern Warfare 2 Surprise
Even being so close to it’s November 10 release date, most info concerning Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is still being kept under wraps. However, a lot is being teased about.
As Video Gamer points out, Infinity Ward managed to keep the Gunship level of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare until the title’s release back in 2007. When asked if Infinity Ward was planning anything similar with the sequel’s release, community manager Robert Bowling replied:
“There are some huge surprises. What’s awesome is, we’ve done all the press we’ve done so far, we’ve shown Cliffhanger, we’ve shown some Favela, we’ve set the tone of what Modern Warfare 2 is, and yet there is something we haven’t talked about that, and the reason we haven’t talked about it is because once you see it you completely forget everything we’ve already talked about. It becomes this whole new game. That’s what I’m excited for.”
“There are a lot of surprises. Some stuff we will never talk about till launch, and that’s just because we want that… it’s emotional stuff that we want to have that emotional response when you play, not read it in a magazine and then you’re like, oh yeah I know about that.”
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to Call of Duty 4. The title will hit store shelves November 10th.

I am quite excited to play this game. Call of Duty 4 has an amazing campaign, and I expect the same from MW2. I am also very pleased to see the refined multiplayer experience. The customized killstreaks is a very welcomed change, as well as the death streak inclusion, in my opinion.

makes complete sense. you go online now you can get full fledge game story, scenarios, characters and special events before the games out and in my opinion takes away from the game. More companies should restrict game information so that when you get home and PLAY the game you can experience everything new and formulate your own opinion. I knew a guy who went from “i love batman, im hyped” to ” im not buying it” based on a few videos. Than he shelled out the money and loves it. If you have faith in the company and like what you see than restrict yourself a bit and see it for yourself. Thats why i never see any of the UC2 videos no matter the hype up in comments so that i can live those moments for myself. Im sure darkangel269 will agree.
meh. I will stick with Uncharted 2. IW if bending over backward for MS with the time exclusive map, the exclusive xbox 360 MW2 edition, the exclusive navy mic, and what not.
PS: MAG will rape this game in term of fun factor, skill require to play it, fun factor, scope and scale, fun factor, and a sense of contributing to the battle rather than being a one man army and loose the game.
@wtGp I’m pretty sure that you’ll be getting Uncharted 2. There would also be Borderlands, and Demon Souls. I believe that MW2 would be a good game but it is much over hyped right now. Making the heads of Activision Big.
These are better games to be bought: Uncharted 2, Borderlands, Demon Souls, Ratchet & Clank: ACIT, and God of War Collection. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Alpha Protocol, and Dragon Age: Origins are all looking great too. And just like Hater what keeps shouting:

Probably something else that will make the game more “arcade-y” than real just like the ability to use double pistols…I enjoyed the original Modern Warfare for it’s realism and relevance to the real world situations we face today. This one seems like they are getting rid of the realism, besides maybe the graphics, and just going for the best shooter/action experience you can have, shoving every single aspect of any shooter that anyone has ever liked all into one game which is just stupid. I’m getting it, hoping that I’m wrong, but I better not be disappointed! Actually I almost hope I am disappointed just because I’m so sick of Activision I want them to have a giant failure. Even though all the Halo loving brats on the XBox will keep playing it for an eternity no matter how good it turns out to be.
@The Hater. You are right about MAG. I’m getting MAG. But the easy-to-please masses (ie. just about everybody else) don’t care. They are sheep, and 90% of FPS players are going to blindly get COD:MW2. Accept it. Move on.

yeah, people are getting COD MW2 because of the hype and their friends are getting it. It sad really. When a quality game will not sell more than a game that has less quality. With all the money IW made from COD4, you think they can afford some dedicated servers for multiplayer, but no. Same peer-to-peer bullshit as COD4.

Isn’t commenting about MAG no matter what the topic spamming? I don’t think it contributes anything unless it’s the topic. And since when did following a franchise make people sheep? I thought we called them fans. I better make sure to not buy any sequels, I might start baahing. People aren’t just getting it because of the hype, they’re getting it because they played this series in the past, and it’s going to be a really fun game. There is a difference between fans, and people that follow a game base on hype because of their friends. Do I have a problem with COD fans? NO. I myself is a COD4 and COD2 fan, but I am not getting CODMW2 because I played MAG. How many people do you know that buy COD because everyone else buys it? Those are the idiots I have a problem with, and not the fan of they series. A lot of people are getting this game because of hype whether you want to believe it or not. If you read the forums, you will see these people I am talking about. This does not apply to COD alone, but also to Uncharted 2. You cannot go on any PS3 form with see, “Should I buy Uncharted 1 and play it because I am getting Uncharted 2?”
As for my statements about MAG being a lot better than this game, I stand by it. I am a diehard COD4 fanboy, I played Killzone 2 for about a month and went back to COD4. Since I got into the MAG beta, I actually trade in COD4 because I played a gamer that is better than it in every area where it counts. As for me spamming about MAG, then my posts should be deleted then. I am just trying to spread the word on how amazing MAG is and people need to play it before they pass on it because the graphic isn’t on par with other PS3 exclusives.

You cannot seem to get it. People will be buying this game because their friends are getting it. They mostly like had no interest in this game, but only getting it to play with their friends. Those people are idiots because if they game appeal to them, then they wouldn’t need their friends to influence them to buy they game or not. People do buy hype games because it was hype, even though they had no interest in the game. I have friends on my xbox live and PSN account that buy games base on hype even though they had no interest in those games. I had friends that purchase games because me and several other of my friends was all playing it, and they was they only person not playing that game in our group. The went out and purchase that game, and regret buy it. They only got it because they felt left out because everyone was playing that game.
First off, you don’t even know me to call me an asshole. MAG hasn’t turn anyone into an asshole. If you played the beta and not try to play it like you would play COD4 with run and gun, then you will see how much better MAG is than all other FPS out there this generation.

The same can be said about ANY game. you buy it to play with friends. Some may not be die hard fans but its just a game.. not everyone takes gaming serious. The videos dont show off anything that hasn’t already been done besides massive amounts of players. Not everyones hyped over MAG because there arent that many features that stand out. MW2 is an established franchise they did an awesome job with MW they have huge amounts of fans. Its expected….
When you asked me over the PSN if i was buying LBPGOTYE i had no plans to.. i changed my mind just so that i could play a few games with friends. I know im not buying it purely based on hype but to play with a friend. That doesnt make me a sheep. i felt like playing it with you.

I also mention Uncharted 2 as another game people are buying, not because they have any interest in it, but because their friends are getting it.
