PSPgo Goes Online Wherever You Go

The PSPgo is set to launch tomorrow, and already new features have been added via the latest firmware update. One of the new features gives the PSPgo access to a 3G network for accessing the internet.

New to freshly released PSP system firmware 6.10, is the ability to tether your PSPgo to your wireless phone via bluetooth, so you can access the internet even if you aren’t near a wi-fi connection. This “tethering” feature is exclusive to the PSPgo thanks to its built in bluetooth 2.0 tech. If you are tech-savvy enough to be purchasing a PSPgo, you likely have a 3G enabled wireless phone handy. So essentially you can access the internet, or play online games anywhere you have your 3G wireless phone.

The addition of bluetooth in the PSPgo brings many exciting possibilities such as using your Dualshock 3 controller to play your PSPgo, while it’s connected to your HDTV via a PSPgo Component Cable (sold separately) thus making the PSPgo a makeshift home console, as well as a go anywhere portable device. Don’t forget the obvious pairing with a bluetooth headset to use Skype.

What other bluetooth related features can Sony include in the PSPgo?
