Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, plain and simple, is set to be this year’s flagship masterpiece for the PlayStation 3. From the trifecta of awards at all 2009 trade show events to the already impressive multiplayer beta, there is no denying that Naughty Dog has set its sights to carve a new benchmark in this generation.
In an unsurprising turnout, the third-person action/adventure has received rave reviews from the masses, or as Metacritic calls it, “universal acclaim”. But not just the typical universal acclaim.

Averaging at a score of 98-out-of-100 across the major video game industry publications, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is currently the second-highest rated PS3 only title trailing behind Grand Theft Auto IV (also averaging at a 98% meta-score).
Uncharted 2 has already shaped up to be a must-have title for any PlayStation 3 owner. Will you be picking up the sequel to Nathan Drake’s latest expedition? Or is another title in the horizon?

dbigfeet – I hope you aren’t referring to Modern Warfare 2, because although it might be fun I think it will end up being a disappointment to anyone who isn’t a casual gamer (by casual gamer I mean those who only play Halo and CoD and never touch other games). Uncharted 2 should be GOTY without a doubt and I’m glad to see that developers are finally providing us with games that truly show the power of the PS3, which I believe far surpasses the 360.
On another note, there is no way in HELL that GTA IV is anywhere close to this game. I was done with GTA IV as soon as I was done with the main story line, it didn’t make me care enough to try to get 100% completion or touch the multiplayer. I expect to be playing Uncharted 2 for a LONG time.

I don’t know why GTA IV is so great when they really watered down the experience from GTA III.
There is no way GTA IV is better than this. Not even close. A too old experience game with just great graphics. That’s how I see GTA IV.
Unlike with Uncharted. Just like Elena said, “No Dull Moments”.
