personally im over the whole “ooo cod is sooooo great”. its not that great… just like halo… they have good graphics and stuff but their just another shooting game. about the only reason i would even consider getting this is for the local multiplayer (if it even has it) and that would only be if it was as good as waw or mw1.

and that annoys me about all games lately, theres no offline multiplayer so i can sit down with a group of friends and just have good old fashioned fun.. it all has to be laggy online multiplayer.. this is the only reason mw1 and waw are in my game library.

also another example, is haze.. i know i know its a horrible game, but the local multiplayer with bots can get really fun and this is the only reason i bought it.. i played the single player story for about 5 minutes then gave up and have never touched the story again.

with the little Ive seen it really needs no demo.. this game is another great addition to the PS3 3rd party library

They did have a demo for MW2 , it was called MW1.

i agree with you draegon,
the demo adds more to solidify the deal, it’s icing for me for the big name games, like GOW3, Drake’s fortune, Heavy Rain…

it’s mainly the winning over audience that they have to concern themselves with, and they’re present in every franchise, in every game. This is how the companies should go into a game, facing it- that they need to prove themselves each time, and not rely on people picking up a game because of past glory, and i think MW: WaW showed that, it was good, but it was….MW2 with a twist… and then zombies.

I hate making this comparison, but they treat us like sheep sometime, and if we get herded into a game without really knowing what we’re getting, we’re the ones to blame…

i am expecting the same experience out of this as I did with COD4. Because of this I am afraid I won’t like it since I am tired of COD4.

Im just not gonna buy it on the grounds that the price is extortionately high! And this came from the company that demanded sony drop the price of ps3 or have no games developed for it- the hypocritical bastards! I think sony should revoke their develpment license and let them have just 50% of their potential customers left to sell it too, citing the high prices of activisions new games.

Im not interested in it anyway. Its YET ANOTHER fps thats gonna be bogged down and held bk by the 360s crappy out of date tech. The online will probably be just as crap as the other 1 anyway- laggy as hell, bad comms and wankers!

Not to concerned about this title, havent played any of the series and probably not going to. I know, I crazy, but I been done with this type of shooter for a long time. I guess its main because I against wars in general. Its always you playing in some fame killing the Germans, Koreans, or Japanese. You always seem to be a Yank, French or a Brit. The “Bad Guy” is always the most over the top baddy, and their never any play or perspective for the other side. So now Germans make me sick, I hate sneaky Koreans, and the Japs are trying to take over the world. Pretty lame right, thats because it is and the War shooter genre is played out. I’d rather shoot Aliens than a young Korean boys that are scared shitless or a Japanese man thats trying to avenge Hiroshima. I’m not gonna touch the Germans, I’ve just been shooting them since I was 14 playing Wolfenstein and it played out now. And don’t tell me kill Arab people is coo, because if it isn’t Osama Ben Laden and his crew then were just shooting at a race of people on the premise. I think I’m just pretty much over shooting people, I guess thats what it boils down to.

Has anyone else noticed that COD characters look like they’re wearing some sort of plastic clothing. I hate how they shine and glare so much…

All I know is Uncharted 2 was a must buy for me anyway but the fact that they(Naughty Dog) said ‘we’re doing well with our release window and the game’s looking good, let’s release the demo/beta for everybody to play.’ solidified my decision even further. My $60 is going to go to companies that I think deserve it. Primarily companies that care about the games more than my $60. If companies don’t have the time/ don’t want to take the effort to make a demo in this generation of games, they are poorly managed and it usually shows up in the quality of the game. We all know Activision’s all about the $$$ anyway. So’s Microsoft.

And putting out a demo months/years after the game’s release, LAME!

So yesterday, I was on Xbox live marketing place thinking that there was a Halo OSTD demo for me to try out. There was none, so I decide to scroll down more to check something, and my guess was correct. About 75% of all xbox 360 exclusive don’t have demos on xbox live. There is a lot of demo for the arcade games, but only a handful for retail exclusives. There is no demo of Gears of War 1 or 2, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Fable 2, or other major “AAA” exclusives. Then I decide to check over on the PSN, and almost all PS3 exclusive either have a demo or a open beta. That made be began to think. Do MS believe that their product is not up to par with the hype and just promote it because they know people are going to buy it? And does Sony believe in their product to have these demos and open beta, even though these games will not sell 3+ million units worldwide?

If there was a demo for Gears of War 1 and 2, Halo 3, Lost Odyssy, and Fable 2, I would have never purchase any of those games at full price, but wait for them to drop below $30. Mass Effect was the only Xbox 360 exclusive, I would have got at full price because its the best western RPG to come out this generation.

On the PSN side, I download the demo for LAIR (Chinese PSN) and didn’t purchase that game because it was horrible. The HAZE demo, I only got to play for about 5 minutes and enjoy the game for that 5 minutes and got the game. I should have spend a little more time on that demo because the full game was horrible.

So you guys are probable saying, WTF is this guy talking about?
Well, simply really. These developers/publisher know that people are going to buy these hype “AAA” games such as COD and Halo no matter the quality and there is no point in release a demo. Releasing a demo would probable affect sales if the demo was horrible and they don’t want that.

I’ve been getting a lot of messages from people, even strangers not on my friend’s list, about sending chain-spam messages to either 20 or 50 people to get a MW2 beta. It’s annoying.
