If you have managed to get your hand’s on the officially unreleased Demon’s Souls and have noticed that the online portion of the game does not work, don’t fret! The game’s developer, Atlus, has an answer of sorts, for you.

“What this means is that users that might manage to pick the game up early and start it up will get an immediate PSN error and have to start playing offline.”

Hopefully that will ease your worry, just a bit. Demon’s Souls releases to North American audiences October 6th, so only one more day of waiting before you’ll be able to duke it out, online. (This just gives you more time to practice!)

    What the point of having online if I cannot invite my friends to my game and no voice chat. Look at WKC, fans ask for voice chat, and they have implemented it for the western release and would be patch in for the Japanese version.
    There excuse was, the servers wouldn’t be able to handle the traffic with voice. Well get some more servers, or get some better servers.

  2. nasum Says:

    Can’t wait to pick this game up tomorrow :)

    @ TheHater

    This is a very different form of multiplayer than people are used to. The point of this one is to seamlessly add other players to a singleplayer game.

  4. 0Z7 Says:

    I got the Asian version, and it is really brutal, its do able it just takes multiple goes thought previous dungeons to level up. it takes a lot of time and is a b****. their is no way to pause the game, if you die all your currently unused souls (exp points) are lost, most baddies kill you with one hit, the multiplayer is just bloodstains, so you can see how they died. my advise is to rent it and try it or wait till it comes down in price.

  5. Max Power Says:

    TheHater…Maybe your not hardcore enough to play this game without someone holding your hand? ;) Nah, just playing with you, but I want to say they made it that way for added difficulty. Plus you could invite someone to play with you and they can turn around and kill you for your souls. Either way, I am extremely pumped for this game, and I can’t wait to pick it up after my classes tomorrow.

  6. TheHater Says:

    @megs1120
    I know that. But at the same time, its an online co-op game, so there has to be some kind of voice communication between players to determine how you are going to tackle a boss or area.

    @Max Power
    Dam you… you got me :)
    I am going to get demon souls down the road. but as of right now, I will skip it.

  7. JohnnyTruant5 Says:

    If I was with atlus I would be pretty optimistic for the game if a bunch of people are getting it before its officially out

  8. AssassinHD Says:

    I am very excited to get this game. Sadly I will have to pick it up on Thursday instead of tomorrow.

  9. kirobz Says:

    I’m so sad that I only have money for Uncharted 2. :(

    Kyle says

    (That’s not a bad thing.)

  10. SolidCake_ Says:

    I only have xtra for Uncharted 2 also, but I did pick up a new copy of
    dead space yesterday for $20.00, I never played it and it seems appropriate
    for October.

  11. DGR8Mc187 Says:

    D space is a good game and I’m in the same boat just enough $ for U2. next week although i really want Tekken 6 as well this month but it ain’t gonna happen.

  12. nasum Says:

    I am getting Demon’s Souls tomorrow and Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend next tuesday :)

  13. JohnnyTruant5 Says:

    @TheHater
    They can’t just get better servers, stop thinking every game company can make their games perfect, but choose not to just to piss you off.

  14. Natiej85 Says:

    @SolidCake_ Dead Space scares me like RE1 did back in the day, like almost to the point where you have take breaks or ask a friend 2 play. But at first glance athis articles main pic and I was like what f**k is that and I wish to battle it. I know the game is gonna kick my behind but I still want it.

    @ TheHater

    im not exactly sure but i tough they said the mutiplayer was limited and not really a full 4 player co op. for example: fighting Boss’s or certain areas and you can only invite a friend if he has progressed to the same area and he appears as a summon (hence blue aura). If its like , theres no point in having game chat a few hits kill you.

    @nasum

    me to im excited..

  16. TheHater Says:

    @JohnnyTruant5
    Hay idiot, I know what I am talking about. How do I know? Because they said so on the Playstation Blog in response to a user question. The said that their servers will not be able to hand the load of voice between 2 or more players.

  17. SteelFox Says:

    @TheHater

    what gives you the right to call people an idiot? I don’t have anything personal against you but you have a tendency to constantly insult people who you deem stupid based on game choices, supporting a company or anything else. Just because you cleverly hide the word by not addressing anyone directly or in random times is rude. If that Killa6 guy makes you feel insulted because you dont “get” slang than maybe you need to “get” a better attitude and respect for others.

  18. JohnnyTruant5 Says:

    @TheHater
    No you actually have no idea what you’re talking about. Do you even know what goes into PLANNING upgrading a server? I’m pretty sure it isn’t something they’re interested in doing ONLY for voice chat. Proof upgrading the server would help doesn’t make me an idiot, because all i was saying was that it isn’t something you just make happen. Again, you have NO idea what you’re talking about.

  19. shadowjin Says:

    just got a text from gamestop saying to pick up my game around 12pm tomorrow. (yes)

    I pre-ordered in that garbage place.. im really pumped reviews haven’t even reviewed it yet, its THAT hard.

  20. JohnnyTruant5 Says:

    @shadowjin
    Let me know how it is, I might pick it up next time i’m at EB games.

  21. shadowjin Says:

    @JohhnyTruant5

    read this:

    Famitsu reviewer Paint Yamamoto, rated the game 9: “This is a game you learn how to play by losing — you’ll face sudden death frequently. But! Keep playing… and you’ll realize how deep it really is. If you’re looking to experience rich RPG elements, by all means play Demon’s Souls!!.”

    Famitsu “casual” reviewer Maria Kichiji rated the game 6 “It’s super-difficult… ‘Souls’ are needed for everything from shopping to power ups, and the entire game is unforgiving. Even worse, there are almost no hints. Demon’s Souls is far too stoic… it’s not a game for everybody.”

    isnt that proof enough the games gonna rock? lol. Some cant even beat the review copy.. go to the original demons soul site read up on how the multi player is set up. doesn’t allow you to select who can play with you or pick and choose..

  22. JohnnyTruant5 Says:

    Well…. I was scrolling through the years with the touchpad on my laptop….. hit it too hard while moving over a wrong date, and now i can’t get in the site…thats the way she goes haha

  23. capt.fodder Says:

    My “your stuff just shipped” email from Amazon landed in my inbox as I was reading this thread, so I’m pretty pumped! It is supposed to be a difficult game but not an unfair one; that’s why I ordered it.

    I’ve said this in another thread in the past, but this is my PS3 Monster Hunter (since I don’t have one of those – damn you Capcom!). But like that game, it isn’t for everyone. I hate it when reviewers say that makes it a bad game.

  24. codnation Says:

    nice shot, i like it!
