Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was originally on the Nintendo DS, but was recently announced as having an upcoming PSP release as well. The release date is officially October 20th, and new screenshots have been revealed to show off the new PSP counterpart. With the PSPgo recently released, GTA: Chinatown Wars looks to be a title that will aid in pushing Sony’s remarkable new handheld hardware.

The new images for Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars look very impressive. Thankfully, this new title will be available on both UMD and for digital download, so everyone with a PSP will have access to the game. It is a straight carbon copy of the Nintendo DS version, so while those that already have the DS version won’t have a reason to go out and buy it again, there’s no doubt that this will also be one of the most popular handheld games to date.

Check out the new screenshots below:

It is also coming to the iphone

  2. I bought and beat it for the DS. It was/is a solid game and the touch controls added a nice layer of depth to the game play mechanics. If they’re not adding anything new for the PSP edition then I really have no incentive to buy it again other than for the updated graphics. Unfortunately that’s not reason enough when money is tight and you’re already on a gaming budget. But for those out there that haven’t played this game before and this was what you were waiting for it’s definitely worth getting.
