For years, talented individuals have been modifying gaming consoles. However, it’s rare you come across one which truly stands out. We’ve found one user mod which definitely stands out, especially in the dark.

PSN user alexman101 won the grand prize in a recent Acidmods contest. His entry was a modified PS3 that features over 100 LEDs, 78 of which are located within the PlayStation “PS” logo.

That’s not all. This PS3 also “lets the beat rock” with its 100+ LEDs. Check out just after the 3 minute mark of the following video:

Wow, Awesome mod, Id love to do something like that but i couldn’t bring myself to potentially damage my 60 gig

not a fan. i think the presentation of the logo is really ugly. its a bit sloppy. maybe if a different color was used for the P and the S it might have looked cleaning. only thing i like is the PS button.

I’m impressed with the amount of work put into this mod, but not with the result. The lines just aren’t crisp. Maybe the LEDs are too big? Mini LEDs would have worked better and looked cleaner.
