EyePet, the upcoming PlayStation Eye-based pet simulator for the PlayStation 3, may be delayed in the US but the European region is staying true to their holiday 2009 release date. As such, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has begun to get press kits for the title in the hands of European review outlets. Out of all the press kits we’ve seen this year, this one looks the most groomed for our homes.
As seen above, creatively shaped press kit comes in the form of a small kennel with all of the goods inside:
Upon release, consumers will have the choice to buy EyePet with or without the PlayStation Eye at the prices of $59.99 and $39.99 respectively. Unfortunately, US gamers will have to wait until Spring 2010 to get their hands on the virtual pet simulator. But who knows? Maybe the delay was intended to release the title alongside another PS Eye companion.

WTF? Europe gets Eyepet on time, but we gotta wait until next year? What’s up with that? If anything, the USA should get it first, cuz European releases gotta be translated into a bunch of different languages. What possible reason could there be for it being delayed in the USA but not Europe?

On Amazon UK, it’s only 18 pounds for the game only version. I had kind of considered importing it. That discount might make up for the extra shipping; especially if I could get it months early. Any reason not to import?
Edit – That’s the play.com price too, so I guess that’s just the price.

@Jasper loons
you will need UK DLC as well not US, which means UK PSN cards sent to your home which takes time.. or a credit card registered in the UK…

Thanks shadowjin. Where did you preorder from? Amazon says it cant ship to my address.

My Aunts getting mine in Australia, Anyways..
When you use Amazon.com UK you have to use a 3rd party seller like you would in the US site as other vendors located in purple under the eyepet name (eyepet user Seller: PNA247 3rd option, 97% positive) theres is £19 = 30.37 USD tax included. He ships to the US.. Shipping is about 5-7$USD.. it takes 7 days by using ROYAL MAIL which is the default one dont change it. They will send an email just like every Amazon site does. time diffrence now is about 8 hours Pacific, 9 central and 10 hours Eastern. just figure your time now and add the time diffrence on my chart…… your set. For the future, you always have to use other vendors because Amazon UK cant ship to the US but there 3rd parties can.. sometimes just keep clicking on a 3rd party that does delever, not all do but theres always ….1

Not interested….I think the price is too high for what you get and what you get screwed with later (watch wait and see the DLC whoring).
BUT…
It is nice to see Europe get something first for a change……most times they’re usually waiting for games we’ve already finished.

Wow, thanks again shadowjin.

I will never understand why they need to delay releases for one region and not the other….if the game is ready for a European release, why isn’t it ready for a North American release??

@ jumperprime : because it was developed in Europe is my guess.

@Jasperloons
no problem.. if your looking for PSN cards for DLC dont worry about it. There are vendors outside the Amanzon.com UK that send theres via e-mail after buying. they range £19.34 and £20.00 which is $31.15 or 30$ USD. You may pay 10$ more but there games arent that expensive and if you just use 1 20$ PSN UK card for eyepet DLC your set. Plus you have something else no one has. just remember to have a UK account to use the card..
