you lost me after The PS3 doesn’t read discs fast enough.
what does a 20gb and 40gb PS3 have to do with the story?

@Beta55

you lost me after The PS3 doesn’t read discs fast enough.

what does a 20gb and 40gb PS3 have to do with the story?

By: shadowjin

<guid

And a lot of the console versions are 20gbs and 40gbs. I'm struggling with my 40gb, I'm imagining how pissed off the 20giggers are.

The PS3 doesn’t read discs fast enough, yes space is cool but speed makes the difference between an install or not. A bunch of players skipped or didn't even play those movies. It seems like they worked something out, even if it did mean to replace your player.

Didn’t the same thing happen when DVD when to dual layers? Anyway, it's not like the PS3 has too many games that will need that much space. If MGS4 needed a 50 GB disc, I don't see many games going past that...The thing I always wonder about is what Microsoft will do for its next generation console. They will obviously want to use a blu-ray drive in it, but Sony makes blu-ray....Sony could easily eliminate the competition by not allowing Microsoft to use blu-ray OR they could make more money by letting Microsoft have it and therefore getting a little money for every console MS sells OR Microsoft could go completely digital which I don't think anyone necessarily likes right now, at least I don't because it eliminates my ability to sell my used games. It will be very interesting to see what happens

could a firmware update fix the issue?? and just change the player’s default maximum capacity settings?? or is that just wishful thinking?

Anyway, it’s not like the PS3 has too many games that will need that much space.
