Wow, that’s a buttload of new PS3 owners. I wonder how many of those are upgrades from Phats to Slims, and how many are actual new owners.

Hey Ryan, I’d say there are quite a few “upgrades” in there, along with people perhaps buying a 2nd system but I’d say the very vast majority are new owners.
Also just noticing the 360 numbers, those are pretty decent too but nice to see the PS3 getting a nice sales spike.

So the PS3 outsold the Wii, but geezus who doesn’t have one at this point? Oh yeah, I don’t yet hahaha.

@Paul
I don’t have one either lol.
Glad to see the PS3 selling that well. Maybe it will keep it up through the holiday.

Great sales.

PS2 sold just under 150K just in the US in September of 2009. I think that’s just as big a deal as PS3’s numbers.

How Nintendo became such a juggernaut this gen is beyond me…

@Cyclonus007 Are you really counting the Wii as a gaming device? It’s bought to be used as a gym.
Nice for the PS2. I can’t help but be amazed that it is still breathing.

I cannot believe the 360 managed to stay that close to the Slim. I honestly thought the Slim would obliterate all especially after Greenberg’s early comments admitting defeat. I LOL @ him then, but now in all honesty I have to agree with him 99.7%. One thing we know for sure, Sony’s dominating days appear to be over. As a Sony fan that bothers me, but as a gaming consumer this makes me smile.
