Well said. Maybe I'll just pick this up anyway (I like supporting good games on PSN) and put it on hold until I'm finished my other games (soooo many games and it just won't quit).

@Frozenbyte

Well said. I understand your frustration about the release of the game but from the PS3 owners prespective, There's like 4 outstanding exclusives that is really a must pick up for us that came out w/in a month release timeframe (Demon Souls, Uncharted 2, Ratchet & Clank: ACIT, and God of War Collection). I would be really picking this up but not now most likely. We'll see if I could grab myself a PSN card but as I said, There's like a lot of games that I really want to pick up.

I really wanted to pick this game up but i’m now down by $10 from my PSN wallet. I was probably a bit unclear somewhere - Trine has always been reasonably bug-free on both PC and PSN. We had some gamepad issues on PC and a couple of minor bugs here and there in both (most notably one in the third level with the big skeleton) but they only affected a very minimal amount of users... We actually had some good testing done and the publisher did some too, and I think the game experience has been fairly good from the first version released... But you can't "test" the stuff that were the cause of the delays. The PSN "bugs" that we are talking about are stuff that a regular user doesn't care about for the most part, version numbers and correct checkboxes on the submission document and stuff like that. They are important from Sony's (and all console manufacturers') point of view but they're annoyingly hard to get right the first time due to a myriad of reasons (especially for a first time console developer, I'm sure we'd have much less problems now, so I'm not saying we should be totally excused or anything). I can't really go to detail on all these but it's much more difficult to get these right than what it sounds.
When all is said and done, we are very sorry for the delay - we never meant for all this to happen and it's us who are going to suffer the most by losing a lot of sales and interest. I hope people understand that none of this was done on purpose (which is what I've seen suggested a lot, and it's just crazy). To put it really simple, each week the game was not on sale we lost money. We're not exactly swimming in cash either, so we really could've used all those weeks. I'm sure a few years down the road we're able to laugh at this and go all "good times" on it, but right now it feels pretty bad when we know that a lot of gamers in the biggest market (North American PSN) have lost a lot of their interest and it's got very little to do with the actual quality of the game.
Got quite long again, sorry! Anyhow, I hope this explains a bit - I'm off to bed. I hope the update goes live in a few hours and people enjoy the game. I think it's still a great game no matter what went on behind the scenes. :)

If you had problems with the PC version as well as the console versions at time of release, Couldn't you have just taken a step back, maybe do a little testing?. I thought game testing was a terrible job because you have to meticulously go through a level to find anything wrong with it, apparently you guys heard that and wanted nothing to do with it. Game looks good and everything so i'm not just hating, but theres really nothing you could have done other than throw magnets against a fridge till they stuck?(letting sony find the bugs)

@Jack from Frozenbyte<br

I'll be buying it soon (future paychecks willing) and still look forward to playing it.
Does anyone else not mind a reasonable delay in the release of a game to ensure a quality product upon release?
Cause I don't.

Wow thanks for making time, Frozenbyte / Joel, to come here and give us some insight as to why the game has been so long in coming. I’ll be buying it soon (future paychecks willing) and still look forward to playing it.<br

I can't give any exact details right now though, sorry. Here's the link:

Basically we're A) happy that the game is finally out on PSN in the US and Europe, B) very disappointed it's taken this long. We totally understand the frustration this has caused, and it has been extremely frustrating on our side too.
Anyhow, carry on - I saw some comments in the earlier post about PSN/Trine and I just wanted to give our side of the story. I hope those who buy the game enjoy it! :)
