Downloadable Content is all the rage now in video games and it looks like Uncharted 2 will be joining in on all the fun and it should be soon.
Naughty Dog Creative Director Amy Hennig told IndustryGamers,
“We’re working on that now, and what we’re prepared to say is that there will be DLC available before the end of the year. Without going into specifics, it’ll involve new maps, new characters, things like that. Some of it will be free of charge and some of it will be purchasable. We’ve got a lot of people on the team working on this stuff, some really cool stuff that people will be excited about. So we’re definitely taking it very seriously,”
She also went on to let everyone know how much Uncharted 2 is exceeding even Naughty Dog’s expectations
“I would definitely say it’s exceeding expectations,” Naughty Dog Creative Director Amy Hennig told IndustryGamers on the phone today. “Being in the industry for a while you learn to try to manage your expectations because you’d rather be surprised with good news than disappointed. It’s a tough business, but from the early numbers I’ve seen getting reported back it’s exceeded any estimates we had internally, and it’s certainly outsold the first game by many, many times. That and the critical reception so far has been really gratifying.”
Once more information is revealed we will pass it along. As always, stay connected to PlayStation LifeStyle for your PS3 news.

I am really looking forward to DLC, and I hope that they can make it seem necessary and important in addition to what was already said in the game. Also, trophy support would be neato!
I’ve played through the game twice now, which is saying a lot for me. I have a really hard time finishing games because I never want to feel like I missed anything, so I end up over-exploring and getting tired of it before I actually feel finished. With Uncharted, the story is so fast paced and so hard to put down that you want to finish it. I’m going to start with Crushing difficulty soon, and I am sure I will continue to love it. UDF had a similar effect on me, though I have yet to beat Crushing on no. 1 (it’s so HARD!)

Glad to hear it’s better then they imagined.
I didn’t get UC1 until a few weeks ago because Sony milked the price of the game, which I think also hurt other folks who wanted it but wouldn’t justify $60 on it. I was waiting for a B1G1/B2G1 sale to get it so I could get it for less.
Hopefully they learn a get the UC2 to GH status quickly. In fact they have done the worst job of all publishers on getting hits titles out to retail. That was one of the best selling points for the PS2 was the vast awesome selection of Greatest Hits-Bargin titles.
