Ratchet and Clank: A Crack In Time is the newest title coming out in the acclaimed series from Insomniac. It is set for release this Tuesday on the 27th. We’ve found something interesting upon firing up the game for the first time…
The title requires the PS3 3.01 firmware update when booting up for the first time. The interesting thing behind this is that update 3.01 was supposed to be optional. No other games have required this for PS3 owners.
Look out for our Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time review coming very soon.

Did you have 3.00 already? Is it possibly that it requires 3.00 but the only version that is now available is 3.01?

Actually, Borderlands requires 3.01 too.

looks like there was something not mentioned in 3.01. Not surprising though.
On another note why hasn’t PSLS not posted about Netflix finally coming to Playstation. Pretty big new IMO

did anyone really choose not to download 3.01 anyway?? I think most people download all updates whether they are optional or not….the only ones that don’t are probably those who have had problems with their PS3 after other updates

Well I have 3.01 already install, so no problem for me

I always wonder it’s in those updates, Sony never really says much about them.
