Though it has been delayed in the US, EyePet has recently released over in the UK and early indications are positive. Despite launching around mammoth games like Uncharted 2, FIFA 10 and Modern Warfare 2; EyePet seems to be doing just fine.
Over on the UK side of Amazon we see the usual big names on the top 10 best sellers list but there is one surprise and that is EyePet. Now its not just enough that it is in the top 10 but it is actually Number 1. The EyePet with Camera and Magic Card is selling for £24.99 and finding quite the following over in the UK. While a US release has been confirmed, there has not been a concrete release date.
As always, stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle for all your PS3 news.
Is this region free as well? i might pick it up for when i go home…
Impressive!
and why is it being delayed in the US??? The world may never know…
I think EyePet goes along nicely with peoples innate desire to take care of animals, especially
puppies and kittens and the like. I think this will also do well when it’s eventually released in the states.
i see it doing pretty well here in the states though i don’t think it will see the sales that it is in the UK
I may not be interested in a fake pet, but I love the box/cage it comes in. It looks almost like a Happpy Meal.
I will pick this up when it comes out on the PS3 in the United States
thanks for the heads up Sev
Yeah this is a good “Casual” application to get young kids in on gaming in a form. And if it is true that they are adding online for the US and that is why it is being delayed. Then I can only hope that it will be “HOME” compatible. I need a security guard to watch for virtual thieves in my personal spaces (LoL)…
I wonder what amount of custimization they will have out of the box.
@DGR
theres a free download pack add on when you purchase the item.. it comes with basic clothing etc. for 5.99 you can give him cowboy gear nd the pubk clothing look.. theres alot out of the box.
Adorable packaging. I bet it’ll piss of GameStop/EB Games as their displays are not exactly “box” package friendly. Does EyePet come with trophies?
