Actually i did know that, my point was just that we’re missing anything like that. I wouldn’t mind a CTV iplayer, Showcase iplayer, hell even a CBC iplayer would be good for rick mercer.

The XMB maybe a bookmark to you but the Cell Processor is not your standard CPU and has to be programmed for differently. This is why Sony helps those who want to get on board. It is like driving on a single lane road all your life and then you discover an 7 lane freeway. You have to figure out what each lane does and is used for or get help from the designer of the freeway to use it effectively.

So getting all the streaming media by just putting an ICON on the XMB does not work as effectively…

I am surprised that there isn’t already a system much like the PSP’s now-neglected Internet Radio system, where third parties can contribute the “player” themselves, without Sony having to get involved. The icon on the XMB is just a glorified bookmark anyway.

And come on Sony – fix the PSP’s Internet Radios! Half of them don’t work any more.

The reason ppl outside the UK wont get iplayer is because we have to pay a tv license to the BBC in the UK (its because there are no adverts on the BBC channels u see). If the rest of the world started viewing for free, what we in the UK have to pay for, the BBC would get its arse kicked by the Government and heavily fined. Thats the only reason why, its got nothing to do with Sony picking and choosing the regions for iplayer.

How about Canada doesn’t get ignored on all of these extra features? We have to go without vidzone, iplayer, netflix, for how long? What else are we gonna get excluded from, Blu ray’s themselves?

MS would be keeping last.fm, facebook, and twitter for one year. I would still prefer my laptop though.
