The original Assassin’s Creed launched without a demo much to the dismay of gamers everywhere. Now that the new IP is established, surely there would be a demo for Assassin’s Creed II to whet the appetite of fans? Think again.
Perhaps as a bid of confidence from Ubisoft, it has been revealed during the recent Eurogamer Expo that the sequel to this popular franchise will not see the release of a demo version. The original game sold around 8 million copies worldwide, so is Ubisoft’s confidence well-deserved? If sales for the sequel slump then perhaps we may see a demo, but this game will ship without a demo version to accompany it on November 17th (20th in Europe).

I don’t think they need a demo as it would tell the truth that this is just more of the same game but with a different location and story plus a few new game elements.

lol @ picture of Etzio stabbing the demo icon.

No demo, no buy. At least if there was a demo then I’d could possible think about getting the game.

@DGCR2D2
actually the game was criticized as repetitive and it has that on its back from part 1..in away… its needed to show whats been improved

@ Trexman
I dont think thats Etzio stabbing the demo icon , Its Altair from the first Assassins Creed.
Oh and I thought this game came out on the 17′th not the 20′th.

That’s right, the 20th is the European release date! Thanks for the catch.

@Hellraiser805
it is coming out on the 17.. might be a typo.
@shadowjin
to answer your old question from another article.i felt like it.. since you actually interact with the site unlike R2D2 who says 2 words and vanishes and later appears with points to his score. its safe to say hes not doing anything for them. lol.

Max Power if you need a demo then go play the original Assassin’s Creed, if you don’t like it at all then don’t get the second one, obviously. If you like it, but thought it got a little repetitive then rest assured that they probably fixed that for this second game since it was a common complaint and this sequel will probably be much better. I enjoyed the first game, even though it was a lot of the same thing, but I’m choosing to rent this one through GameFly instead of buying just because the first one didn’t really have any second play through appeal, and very few games do for me, so I figure without any multiplayer options this one isn’t worth the buy either.

lol the demo has been assassinated. As long as AC2 has Nolan North and Kristen Bell then this is GOFY
November 3rd, 2009 at 11:31 PM
A demo is definitely needed, at least for me. The original ac was extremely buggy to the point where me ps3 would freeze and lock up from time to time. Not to mention the repetitive gameplay and horrible screen tearing. Not planning on picking this up but maybe a demo can persuade me.

serious? If they are confident in their game, they would release a demo.

I ain’t gonna touch this game with an eight ft long shitty covered stick!
There is ALWAYS a reason that demos aren’t released for game. The main reason being a lack of confidence in the final product. I guarantee that this game is the same as before, same boring game plan, same boring characters (sort of), same rubbish un-flowing combat, same juttery parcour movements and same poor quality xbox360 style graphics (main characters standing out too much like bad 80’s movie effects on a pastel shaded background).
I will be avoiding like the bubonic plague with sticky knickers on a friday night!

I guess if no demo = bad game, that means modern warfare 2 is gonna suck as well, huh?
November 4th, 2009 at 10:53 AM
not so good reputation + no demo = hmmm, most likely pass or just rent
good reputation + no demo = who cares, here’s my money

I have faith in Ubisoft. They took the complaints and critisms pretty hard. I also have to disagree on most of the comments above me. Just because a game doesn’t have a demo doesn’t mean there is a lack of confidence from the developer. Hell, it could mean the exact opposite. I wasn’t a huge fan of the original AC. It glitched on me, and I found it repetitive too, but I still found it enjoyable. I have the second one pre-ordered, but if you need a demo before you buy this game (or any game) just borrow it from a friend, or rent it.

@ Shadow , really name calling what r u 12.
Anyway mark my word this game will score 8.9 – 9.5 and the major hits it will take will be it’s repetitiveness. If you’ve played 1 mission in AC you played them all. But the scenery is always gorgeous.

Demo should alwyas be a priority at this point. It’s like not focusing on DLC, it’s a new addition to this generation, and a change in a companies game strategy is absolutely necessary.
