Why do some of the buy it now links lead to the Xbox360 versions? :/
(Midnight Club: LA and Mirror’s Edge, specifically)
November 4th, 2009 at 9:54 PM
Lmao at the genres.
November 4th, 2009 at 10:05 PM
Hey…you nuts or what? dude…Uncharted and Uncharted 2 at the bottom?! Assasin’s Creed 1 and 2 at top? And all those shitty games? this list is completely wrong!
11/04/2009 at 10:11 PM
Strange, I was pretty sure the Alphabet started with ABC, and ended in XYZ.
Just kidding… These are in alphabetical order to avoid sending gamers into a rage.
November 4th, 2009 at 10:24 PM
solid stuff bro
November 4th, 2009 at 10:26 PM
ok….didn’t c that
11/04/2009 at 10:36 PM
Heh, no worries, you aren’t the first and wont be the last.
I was only teasing, all in good fun my friend.
Now that you know it’s in alphabetical order, what do you think of the list now?
November 4th, 2009 at 10:50 PM
it’s actually going in alphabetical order!. Not by sales or ratings! so its not actually ranking them or else uncharted 2 will be in top 5.
November 4th, 2009 at 10:59 PM
you should shorten it to TOP 20
November 4th, 2009 at 11:07 PM
I would have to disagree with Lost Planet, that game was so lame, it went ok during the first 6 missions but then it just got boring to death. The rest of the list it`s actually very well done altough i have to ask where is Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1? I mean if you have Assassin´s Creed 1, Lost Planet, 3 COD games and even Castlevania SOTN(not bad at all, but it´s a downloadable PS1 classic) you couldn´t put Sigma 1 in there?
Anyway this list is great and an amazingly well done buyer´s guide, well done!
November 4th, 2009 at 11:24 PM
Yakuza 3? Seriously wasn’t expecting that up there. Awesome! It and VC are my favorite PS3 games. I imported Yakuza 3, and by God, it was worth every penny.
November 4th, 2009 at 11:26 PM
The NGS2 photois from the 360 version
Too much blood? PS3 version has the purple mist thing going on
November 4th, 2009 at 11:44 PM
I laughed at everything specially Resistance 1 and 2, and Saints row 2 being a Saints Row 1 ripoff.
November 5th, 2009 at 3:26 AM
I love how the screen shot of Mega Man 9 says press the + button.
November 5th, 2009 at 9:26 AM
I can’t believe you left out Sonic Unleashed – that was one of the most fun games i played all last year.
Yet you had room for Mirror’s Edge? A first – person running and jumping game that only about 40 people bought……….for shame.
Also Fifa/NHL/NBA/Madden instead of Pro Evolution Soccer? Are you kidding me???
Finally Street Fighter instead of Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe? WTF???
November 5th, 2009 at 9:55 AM
Really happy to see Castlevania SOTN on this list, surprised too. Fantastic game. Also, really surprised to see Farcry 2 on this list,,, that game kinda sucked. The rest of its pretty damn good tho, as far as I know… I own like 30 of these games at least.
November 5th, 2009 at 10:35 AM
ok this may be the only time i look at all 100 titles on a list like this because the genre names are too damn funny
November 5th, 2009 at 11:04 AM
Decent list. The Genre names were pretty funny.
November 5th, 2009 at 12:15 PM
Damn!!! I only have 29 of those. I guess I better start buying!!!!!
November 5th, 2009 at 12:25 PM
I don’t know how they didn’t have SOCOM Confrontation on that list. After all the new patches and the new map pack coming out, SOCOM Confrontation is one of the best games on the PS3. It even comes with the $50 blue tooth headset and the game for only $60. I think people need to play SOCOM again and put up a new review on it. There are thousands of people that would rather play SOCOM than Call of Duty. I talk to them all the time while playing SOCOM. SOCOM is very addictive and my girlfriend, brother, and a few of my buddy’s think the game is awsome and want to play it. SOCOM is the most under rated video game in the world.
November 5th, 2009 at 1:48 PM
100’s a bit too much, half of these games arent worth playing. Ghost Recon is like 2 years old and lame, Lost planet was fun but gets repetitive real quick. Dirt 2 and GRID arent even worth mentioning.
November 5th, 2009 at 2:48 PM
@KRonic,
Socom is not on there for a reason, it took almost a year for the game to be playable. That to me makes a game not worthy of a list like this.
November 5th, 2009 at 3:10 PM
I remember The Darkness, what a great game imho.
I stopped reading the list there, but so far so good.
November 5th, 2009 at 5:04 PM
Had to read it twice to see all the “genre” reamrks , lol.
November 5th, 2009 at 6:31 PM
Rock Band 2 had better drums. Just costs 30 dollars for Cymbal Attachments. Go buy it NYAOW!
November 5th, 2009 at 7:32 PM
awesome list
November 5th, 2009 at 8:10 PM
there’s a lot of crap that doesnt deserve to be on that list, but that’s just my opinion.
November 6th, 2009 at 10:43 PM
it’s great that you put Demon’s Souls in there!
still don’t understand how SF gets such great reviews, there exactly the same each time, and Tekken is so much bettter
Don’t know HOW Overlord II got in there, that game sucked so badly, I returned it 5 days after I got it
November 8th, 2009 at 6:18 PM
listen: there are 100 titles. of course fluff had to be added. In 3 (even 1) years, if this list was recreated, plenty of them would be weeded out for better games we could all agree on.

[...] In addition, there is no denying that the series’ massive ongoing popularity will generate millions of sales for Gran Turismo 5. While Gran Turismo 5: Prologue sold exceptionally well, it’s hard to imagine it outselling the full title. When both elements are taken into consideration, it’s possible to see Gran Turismo 5 as one of the most profitable games to ever release on a PlayStation platform. [...]
