This coming February, Halo fans around the world will be able to get their hands on “Halo Legends,” a series of animated shorts involving their favorite Chief. But the only console that will be able to play the release in its highest quality will be PlayStation 3 owners.
Since HD-DVD lost the format war, Blu-Ray is the king of high definition media. Microsoft has no choice but to release this series of videos on regular DVD for the Xbox and Blu-Ray for those who have Blu-Ray players. This obviously includes the PlayStation 3, so when it releases on its now-official date of February 9th, 2010, the irony of the situation really sets in, and we’re sure more than a few forums will go up in flames.

Wait, why do you think this is going to spark flames? I mean were dealing with anime here. Its not like its some major, exclusive game jumping ship to a rival platform LOL:) Yeah, so I’m going to have to respecfully disagree with your assumption here.
I guess the misinformed from both fanboy factions could read into this as a sign of the HALO franchise coming to the PS3, but there is NO WAY that could happen since Microsoft owns the HALO IP. In fact this could turn into a genius move by Microsoft because they will have found a way to make money from people that don’t even own a 360. It could pay off even more in the long run if people end up liking the anime series. Next thing you know, some of those want more of the HALO franchise. Where do they go for more? The 360
But back to my main point, do you really think people are going to care about this not being exclusive?

@Mitch
its a cartoon of HALO going to the PS3 not the game and on blue ray.

But the release date is new.

Hm…so anime eh.
Halo 1 would be a nice treat to see on the PS3, but only because its a very good game. I think the others in the series(referring to only Halo 2/3) were not that great and was mostly just hype. That being said…
I personally don’t think the forums will go up in flames or even if this is something fan boys could actually argue over.
Just my opinion however….still interesting news none the less.

Well, Mitch seems a little fired up about the assumption. I know some 360 fanboys that’ll raise hell over any dumb Halo related thing. Personally, Halo got old a long time ago, and the story got pretty lame pretty quick. I mean, the main character “Master Chief” has like no personality. He doesn’t even have a face! oh well.. I’ll still laugh at anyone who gets their panties in a bunch over this.

@BigWoop I agree!!! Halo is so sacred to 360 gamers that they even bought a small expansion for $60…What a rip off…All the people I know who bought Halo 3: ODST felt like they’ve been ripped…And I’m like, “You’ve been ripped by MS since you bought the 360.”…lol..

don’t care at all, I will never buy it cuz I’ve always thought the Halo games were way overrated and I couldn’t stand that all of my college friends would ONLY play Halo. I played it with them a few times but I never understood why everyone liked it so much, I honestly think it was just because it is simple enough for everyone to pick up and play so even the most casual gamer could buy a 360 and play it. To me Microsoft could have just as well only sold this on DVD and anyone who wanted it would have bought it on DVD whether they have a blu-ray player or not. I mean I have a PS3, obviously, but I still don’t buy every movie on blu-ray.

is is a hot date?
November 6th, 2009 at 10:17 PM
HAHAHAHA! not buying it
November 7th, 2009 at 6:32 AM
even if you buy it on blu-ray, all the royalties go to Micro$haft, so i dont really see the point in this article! Seems to me that PSLS is stoking some flames for no reason inparticular.
Just like with a lot of so-called “news” articles on this site recently- rubbish, uninteresting and ultimately shit! Come on PSLS, u can do better than this.

Wouldn’t wanna infect my PS3 by inserting and thing with HALO on it. It might give it some sort of “red ring” virus.
