The PS Video Store Finally Goes European

It looks like after a year of waiting, Europe is finally getting a PlayStation Video Store.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has published a press release stating that the store will open next week on the 18th and within its first day lineup are gems such as The Dark Knight, Star Trek, and Gran Torino. Many studios have signed on to support the store, with a couple of big names like Disney, and of course, Sony Pictures.
Right now, the store will only be made available in the UK, France, Spain, and Germany with more territories being added during 2010.

@sobrguy – Amen brother! Us Canucks need streaming video to keep us warm during the cold winters. Definitely some light on the horizon if the UK is getting this stuff. Now if the CRTC would accidentally blow up and kill all the old bastards running the place I’m sure I’d be watching movies on my PS3 by the end of next week.
It would be nice if they brought DVR functionality to the US.

The Communist Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission needs to go….NOW.
Thanks to them Canada is the only country in the world (besides North Korea) where you go to jail for watching another countries satellite signal. They help their friends form monopolies and restrict any viewing freedom we could have. All this behind the veil of Government Protection.
Oh well at least we have “free” health care….which we PAY for every month and we get to wait 8-12 months for a simple procedure that could be done in the US in a week while our doctors treat us like crap and bedside manner is a thing of the past and our technology upgrades are zero….yeah “free” health care rocks…..just don’t get sick or you’ll find out how broken the system is.

What do you mean by going to jail for watching another contries signal? Like for getting american channels on satellite? Because there is no way any company could make money on canadian TV alone. I am thinking you made that up to be dramatic.
