It would feel awkward playing Tekken on anything but a PS, at least to me.

blazblue sold well was because it was an excellent game and was highly praised even the online component. it had nothing to do with playing against the japanese. the quality of the game, name brand are the main sale drivers. Everything else is an added bonus. also the internet in the US is far from perfect. The average customer doesnt base there sales on what country they can play. What a ridiculous assumption.

it’s possible that the PS3′s sales are due to wanting to play with Japanese people or something as well. That’s what happened with Blazblue.

Haha, everyone hates that 360 contoller. I’ll add one too:

Yep, the 360 controller (mainly the d-pad) SUCKS big time. I was so happy a couple years ago when Castlevania: SOTN came out (I only had the 360 at the time)

However that happiness quickly ended when trying to cast Dark Metamorphisis with that D-Pad. You’d have an easier time trying to hang yourself with your arms tied behind your back. I could at least cast it sometimes, but the sword brothers spell was IMPOSSIBLE.

Tekken is a Playstation franchise so thats why the PS3 version should more than the Xbox 360 version plus Tekken 6 was PS3 exclusive before getting announced for Xbox 360. Plus I hate the controller and prefer the PS3 controller better as its better suited for fighting games. 360 controller is better for shooters though.

The main reason is not the controller (although you are all correct about it), it’s the fact that it’s a franchise associated with the Playstation and I have observed that 360 guys that are new to the PS3 don’t even care for Playstation franchises. In other words, when the 360 got Tekken, they didn’t even care. They just saw it as something to gloat over. Nobody actually WANTED it. The exception is grand theft auto. I bet you (not much of a bet) that 360ers don’t get that Metal Gear: Rising game, either.

Does that include the Amazon.com lightning deal bundle for the game and fight stick at $29.99 a few days ago? That certainly could have been a big sales boost.

And is the 360 controller really better for shooters? I’ve never liked the controller. I feel any issue with the PS3 controller has to do with the button mapping on the individual game. The buttons are all easy to reach but sometimes the order’s just off. Customizable button mapping FTW.

i agree…. but thats assuming everyone has both systems. I think it has to do more with the fact that Tekken was a Playstation known game than a M$ brand. Im sure the original XBOX owners know of Tekken but how many would try it out?

I would never play a fighting game with the 360 controller. I can understand people preferring the 360 controllers on shooters, but on games using combos heavily, the DS3 is much better than the 360 controller. That might be the reason.
