It’s pretty cool- more significant would be the ability to customize your XMB, but im sure that will happen far far down the line, when there is plenty more to add/remove.

@Makai – I see why you would want to justify your cheating. Lacking in skill, you need to cheat. However, changing the name of it, and dubbing it “spying”, does not change the fact that its cheating. That said…..

This all could have been done before with skype, a cell phone, or if really necessary, friggin’ walkie talkies! So… yea… it makes it easier,,, but… I don’t think it’ll really change anything that much.

@JackC8 – Not that I’m interested in the slightest about using facebook on ps3… but mine does have a keyboard. Any USB device works dude, and man its so much easier having a keyboard hooked up on the ps3… since text chat is the only real cross game chat I have right now

How about 2X and 4X zoom for the Blu ray player? Every DVD player ever made had that – even my $30 unit I got a $15 mail in rebate on. So obviously it was thought of as a somewhat important feature. But not my $400 PS3. Nope, just a bunch of facebook crap. Question: why would anyone be interested in using that on the PS3 instead of their computer, which has a freakin’ keyboard?

Yes it’s an extremely fair tactic to have one asshole give away the rest of the team because he feels like it. I guess if someone might want to play the game without the enemy heading straight for them non-stop they’re screwed.

It’s called cell phones or skype. if there’s a will,. there’s a way.

At the end of the day though, it’s really not cheating they are spying. The difference? Cheating is like using a program that gets rid of the Fog of War on an RTS letting you see what’s going on. Having a spy is just co-ordinating based off of intelligence of someone pretending to be the enemy. In my eyes it’s a fair tactic for war games.

Also I suck as a player. Someone taking a spy role is probably going to get more kills than I will. So spy’s are better for the team than me. So I really can’t diss them. I try to kill and I just die like crazy. So… Plus it’d probably be easier for a team to plant a mole that just runs to the their friends to get their kills up, rather than to sit there and to try and co-ordinate character positions.

It just seems all too complicated and if people care that much about it, do clans. Of course they can still spy but. What ever. You’ll never fix that. They’ll just buy a PSP and use skype if they have to.

please stop putting people in categories.. im aware of what your saying but its hilarious your comparisons, especially the japanese example. If you do more research youd find out its only in MW2 for the 360. Im sure M$ knows its own systems weakness and exploits. Dont base 1 game that cross chats been removed to be EVERY game…

Cross game chat can be used to cheat in this way also. Let’s take Killzone for instance. If all of my friends play on the Helghast side and I play on the ISA side then I can give away the positions of my teammates and the paths they are taking via cross game chat. People need to verbalize exactly what it is they’re looking for in cross game chat. You don’t want the same thing as what’s on the 360.

Cross game chat is used to gain an unfair advantage in certain games. Like when you die and can view the whole map in certain FPS games, you aren’t allowed to talk to your team at that time….With the cross game or party chat on, you can give away your opponents position and things like that.

So yeah, it’s kinda cheating for some games. People have been doing that for a long time on xbox now
